RT7000 Transceiver

The EiKa-Tronic RT7000 Series is an advanced transceiver system which

provides the total system solution for all your tactical HF requirements.

The system is rugged, reliable, and easy to use. It provides long distance voice and data transmission

capability over the 1.6-30 MHz high frequency (HF) range at power levels up to 1000 W . The

knowledge and experience gained from 20 years in the HF radio business was used to develop this

completely new product family which utilizes the very latest in electronic and packaging technologies.

Using multiple microprocessors and new technologies such as Digital Signal Processing (DSP)and

Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS), the RT7000 provides built-in features such as Automatic Link

Establishment, Voice Enhancement, and Encryption. These powerful technologies and features have

been carefully balanced with the need for ease of operation, high reliability, simple maintenance, and

Ruggedized ConstructionThe RT7000 has been fully ruggedized to meet a wide variety of

stringent military specifications. The unit is fully sealed, dustproof,

waterproof, and immersible to 1 m. Temperature range, humidity

shock, and vibration tolerances meet or exceed U.S. MIL-STD-810E.

Multimode CapabilitiesAll standard modes, including USB, LSB, CW, and AME, are available.

A wideband data option is provided for high-speed data capability

Full Line of AccessoriesTo meet a wide variety of systems applications, the RT7000 familyincorporates a full line of accessories including Power Amplifiers (400

and 1000 W), Digital Antenna Tuners, Remote Controls, Power

Supplies, etc.

12- and 28-Volt ModelsThe RT7000 is available in both 12- and 28-V models for use in both

military and commercial vehicles. Full protection is provided against

reverse polarity over/under voltage, power surges and spikes.

Reliable Multi-Level Power AmplifierOutput power is conservatively rated at 125-W PEF, 100-W average,

in continuous keydown operation. Three front-panel-programmable

levels are available which default to 5, 20, and 125 watts. Complete

VSWR protection is provided.

Advanced Receiver DesignDesigned to cope with today's crowded, noisy HF spectrum, the

RT7000's receiver performance is on a par with most dedicated

surveillance receivers.

Microprocessor ControlTwo high-performance processors are used to control the operation of

the RT7000.

Direct Digital SynthesizerAn advanced fast-switching DDS circuit is the heart of the RT7000synthesizer. It provides a low-noise and spurious output, and permitsfast scanning and high resolution. Although 10-Hz channel spacing isstandard, the synthesizer is capable of operating in 1-Hz steps forspecial applications.

Alphanumeric KeypadThe fully waterproofed, front-panel keypad has full alphanumeric

capabilities as standard, offering not only channel and frequency

input, but also text message composition.

Alphanumeric DisplayThe RT7000 has a high-resolution, backlit, custom LCD display which

indicates channel number, frequency time, clarifier offset, mode, and

relative signal strength/output power, as well as the status of the

installed options. Two alphanumeric lines display the BITE status

sub-menu data, and can also be used to compose or receive ALE

orderwire or data messages. A24-hour clock/timer is optional.

Modular ConstructionThe utilization of a "no-harness, full plug-in" packaging concept

permits easy field-level repair and upgrades, as well as quick

installation of any option card.

BITE Capabil ity Automatic BITE capability with fault isolation to the lowest repairabl

unit (LRU), is standard in the RT7000. BITE status messages, which

cover a variety of possible failure modes, are presented on the display

RT7000 Options

Remote-Contro l Capability A variety of remote-control capabilities are offered. An extended front

panel control can be used as a controller for short distance operation.

Full-function remote control is available using either the ISDN protocol

(medium distances) or FSK tones (unlimited distances) over any

voice-grade 2- or 4-wire line. The RT7000 is also capable of full

computer control utilizing a variety of interface standards.

Dual ALE Capability OptionsIn addition to the widely used and cost-effective TRANSCALL system

the RT7000 also offers a full FED-STD-1045 (MIL-STD-188-141A

compatible Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) system which

provides advanced features such as high-speed scanning, sounding

link-quality analysis, and send/receive orderwire message capability

Both of these ALE options provide selective calling as well as "best

available-channel" selection.

DSP Voice EnhancementThe optional plug-in Digital-Signal Processor (DSP) Voice

Enhancement option reduces the effects of various types of noise and

interference on voice communications.

High Level Encryption OptionThis plug-in option provides high-level digital encryption of both voice

and low speed data communications. It is interoperable with thepopular TCC 9000 series.
