Most toys for children today are mass made by machines. Rubens Barn® dolls are all made, piece by piece, by hand. It takes more than 100 different hand movements to make one Rubens Barn® doll. These different steps are made by skilled, devoted sewing workers. Every one personally trained by Design Rubens Sweden AB on location in China. The long trip from the design table in Sweden to a soft Rubens Barn® doll cuddled by a smiling child is nothing less than happy magic.

Since the dolls are all individually made you cannot find any doll identical to another. Your doll will have its own personal looks. When holding a Rubens Barn® doll in your hands you will find true happiness come to life.

About the dollsAll our dolls are made in a soft polyester fleece, and are filled with polyester fiber. The bottom is firmly stuffed with granulate, which allows the dolls to sit comfortable. The eyes and facial structures of Rubens Barn® dolls are what makes them stand out from other dolls. It is no secret that their popularity is because of their cheerful and lifelike appearance. It takes about 100 different hand movements to make one single doll.Handmade Happiness®!

About Rubens Barn®

Welcome to Design Rubens Sweden AB, the company which

manufactures unique, handmade soft dolls, Rubens Barn®. All

our dolls and accessories are of our own design and we aim to

offer the very best quality with all our products.

What really makes Rubens Barn® so unique is the welcoming happy

feeling you get when holding an Anna, an Olivia or a Jonathan in

your arms.We believe the description Handmade Happiness® suits Rubens

Barn®. “Barn” means children in Swedish which makes it easier to

understand the name of our dolls, Rubens Barn®.

So, our mission, to convey happiness to our customers by simply

providing unique design and superior quality with Rubens Barn®, is

very clear.

The first 6 dolls, Rubens Barn Original, were designed in1996.

Our company, Design Rubens Sweden AB, was formally established

in 1998, when Teruko Wahlström became the general manager.

Under her management and in close co-operation with Ewa Jaren-

skog, a well-recognised artist, they have together been able to create

new happy Rubens Barn® dolls every year. After retirement of Ewa

Jarenskog in 2011, designers Sara Sjögren and Karin Sandqvist are

responsible for the design of Rubens Barn® under the leadership of

Teruko Wahlström.

Ulf Wahlström joined the company in 2012 and where appointed

general manager.

The characteristic concept brought forward with Rubens Barn®,

Handmade Happiness®, hardly needs to be explained. The feeling,

which these handmade dolls convey talks for itself. Lately we have

also focused on designing extra clothes and accessories to further

stimulate children of all ages to happily playing with Rubens Barn®.

All products are tested according to stipulated safety standards in

respective country where they are sold, in Europe, EN 71, in the US,

ASTM- standards and CE marked. Our production plant for all the

dolls is certified according to ISO 9000.

The happy Rubens Barn® Team is situated in a small countryside

village named Bollebygd, just east of Gothenburg, Sweden. All office

administration such as finance, design, product planning/logistics,

marketing and, not least, customer service, are located, as is our

warehouse for local distribution in Bollebygd.

So, welcome to Design Rubens Sweden AB, a company with unique,

soft and happy dolls for all ages, Rubens Barn®!
