ON BASEBALL ACROSS TEXASShining a Light ON BASEBALL ACROSS TEXASOn November 7, Rangers pitcher Shawn Tolleson, Rangers Foundation Executive Director Karin Morris, and Globe Life Vice President of Marketing Corey A. Jones, visited Celeste High School and presented the baseball team and school with a grant for $10,000 to help install lights at their baseball field. The grant presentation is part of the Globe Life Texas Rangers Baseball and Softball Grant Program. The Rangers and Globe Life will visit other 2014 grant recipients throughout the off-season.

$25 gives one child a chance to play a full season of RBI baseball.

$50 gives two students a chance to participate in their first race through the Texas Rangers just keep livin programs.

$100 gives a Miracle League participant their personalized authentic Rangers jersey and experience at Miracle League Fantasy Camp.

$1,000 gives an entire RBI team jerseys and equipment for a full season.

Celebrating FallOn October 28, Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus and his girlfriend Claudia Aznar hosted a fall festival for women and children staying at SafeHaven's shelter. The festival included dinner catered by Blackeyed Pea, an old fashioned horse-drawn hayride, pumpkin decorating, and bobbing for apples. Elvis Andrus and Claudia Aznar presented a $5,000 check to SafeHaven CEO Mary Lee Hafley as well as a $100 gift card to each woman, and gift baskets to all the children. The mission of SafeHaven is to end domestic violence.

Thanks to all of the sponsors and golfers who participated in the 2014 Ozarka Texas Rangers Alumni Legacy Golf Classic at the Four Seasons Las Colinas TPC course. A record $160,000 was raised at this year’s event. Thanks to our title sponsor Ozarka and presenting sponsor Pro Financial Services for their continued support, and the many Rangers alumni that participated in the event.

OZARKA TEXAS RANGERS ALUMNI LEGACY GOLF CLASSIC

Rangers outfielder Shin-Soo Choo and his wife Mia presented a $100,000 check to members of the Korean Cultural Center Board to help facilitate the construction of the Korean Cultural Center in Dallas. The center will house the Korean Society of Dallas, Korean Women’s Association, and many other Korean organizations.

Future for the Future

YOUTH Baseball• Gave more than 3,000 children ages 6-18 a chance to play baseball

in RBI and Jr. RBI programs in Dallas, Arlington, Lancaster, Austin, and Fort Worth.

• Supported more than 300 Miracle League participants in Miracle League DFW.

• Distributed more than $92,000 to the Globe Life Texas Rangers baseball and softball grant programs.

• Hosted the 2014 Major League Baseball RBI World Series that featured more than 50 baseball and softball games with 500 plus athletes.

YOUTH Education• Provided more than $135,000 in college scholarships to help

local students reach their academic goals.

• Launched a new program, Leading Off, presented by Globe Life, to provide career exploration activities and in-depth sports marketing studies with 60 Arlington ISD eighth graders.

YOUTH Health• Helped nearly 90% of the 200+ just keep livin participants reach

their fitness goals and saw all of those students improve their academic performance and attendance.

• Gave back more than 1,400 hours in community service through volunteer projects as part of the just keep livin program and participated in nearly a dozen 5K races and a half-marathon.

• Continued to motivate fifth graders in the Medical Center Arlington Texas Rangers Fitness All-Stars program and produced a brand-new DVD to motivate kids even more

YOUTH in Crisis• 150 children participated in the annual Summer Academy,

presented in part by Teammates for Kids Foundation.

• Provided financial or in-kind support for more than 75 organizations that support youth.

SHIN-SOO CHOO hosted a baseball camp for representatives from the MIRACLE LEAGUE SOUTHLAKE on Thursday, November 13 at Caroll High School. New Rangers Bench Coach STEVE BUECHELE and Rangers pitcher TANNER SCHEPPERS also assisted with instruction. Members of the Southlake Carroll Varsity Baseball Team volunteered as buddies.
