Virus type: System Sector VirusWhat does the virus do?

The Angelina Virus is a system virus discovered, October 1995 by Seagate Technology. This particular virus

infects the fixed disk partition table. The virus is loaded into memory by executing an infected program and

then affects the computer's runtime operation and corrupts program or overlay files.

How would you clean your computer of the virus?

1. Shut down Windows, and then turn off the power. Do not simply press the reset button.

2. Wait 30 seconds for memory to be cleared.

3. Do one of the following:

If you have a NAV 2001 (or later) CD andyour computer can boot from the CD-ROM drive:

1. Insert the NAV CD into the CD-ROM drive.

2. Restart the computer, and follow the prompts.

3. Choose to repair all infections.

4. Remove the floppy disk, and then restart the computer.

5. Start Norton AntiVirus, and run a full system scan.

attachment named nakedwife.exe, what appeared to be a Macromedia Flash movie was really a virus that

destroyed critical system files - making your system unusable.

This virus will also once received and infected your system attach its self to all out going Emails.

What does the virus do?

The jerk virus is a Macro virus that was discovered on the 20th

April, 200. This particular virus does a few

different things to your computer;

- Displays a message on the 14th of months June - December. The message box is titled "Class.Poppy"

and the message displayed is "I think (insert username) is a big stupid jerk!" - Infects Word's global template and all open workbooks in Excel. As subsequent Word documents are

used, they are infected upon closing.


Disabling the System Restore Utility (Windows XP Users)

1. Right click the My Computer icon on the Desktop and click on Properties.

2. Click on the System Restore tab.

3. Put a check mark next to 'Turn off System Restore on All Drives'.

4. Click the 'OK' button.

5. You will be prompted to restart the computer. Click Yes.
