‘I don’t believe in evil, I believe only in horror. In nature there is no evil, only an abundance of horror.’

This campaign is set in a small part of the Lustrian coastline. It is nicknamed the romril Coast and co!ers a stretch

of a"out four hundred miles. It is not #outh $merica% not Central $merica% not $frica. The characters% politics%situations% and e!ents are related only to &arhammer and not to any historical !iewpoint "ecause this is% in fact%

fantasy.

Background

The 'mpire is "eginning an acti!e campaign to try to immigrate people to their Lustrian colonies. Bretonnian forces

are already starting to swell there and Tilea is "eginning a similar programme of colonisation. Rather than risk

losing their footholds in that land% they want to "olster the population and e(pand )uickly or else risk "ecomingoutnum"ered. It is going to cost the 'mpire a significant sum% "ut sending massi!e shipments of troops to take "ack

colonies pillaged "y foreign powers will cost e!en more.

There are many types of people they are after% such as those with com"at a"ility and a fierce independentstreak. This makes ad!enturers ideal candidates% and such people will help form an inherent protection force "ecause

if the settlements are threatened% they will need to assist else "e stranded in the land with no resources% and also%

such types tend to find some way% no matter how nefarious% to support themsel!es in the meantime. The 'mpire is

also seeking farmers% prospectors% herdsmen% and miners to produce the raw materials and to help make the colonies

self sufficient as well as ha!e e(cess material shipped "ack to the 'mpire.

To this end% they ha!e paid a large num"er of agitators and demagogues to wander and talk of all the

astonishing opportunities that await those who accept this offer of relocation and a new "eginning.

*ther +ooks

This series of scenarios is also useful if the ad!enturers ha!e committed one crime too many. If wanted posters are

a"out to start going up% or their faces are getting a little too associated with dire occurrences% then they may find it

prudent to get out of town for a couple of years. 'ncounters such as ,+ooray -or +enry and e!ents at the alternati!eend of ,ower Behind The Throne in the 'nemy &ithin Campaign may also ha!e e(ceeded the characters tolerance

for ensconced no"ility% and the freedom of the wild wild west may appeal to them.*f course% they dont have to go% they can stay in their present location if they wish.

Part 1: The Basic Pitch

The 'mpire is going to pro!ide cheap transport for those seeking to go to Lustria. The only draw"ack to relocating

to the romril Coast is the danger of pirates% 0orseman% and 'l!es. 0ow that theres going to "e a fleet with lots of

protection% this is the ideal time to go.

The a"o!e data is supplemented with whate!er of the following looks rele!ant.

1/ There are ancient cities made of pure gold and theyre 2ust deserted. $ny fool who can wander in can help

themsel!es to all they can carry.

3/ The land of the romril Coast is so fertile that you can throw seeds down and a season later ha!e a forest of

crops. Theres thousands of s)uare miles% all unclaimed. Build a ca"in% fence off what you want% and its all yours.

0o more ta(es% no more no"les% nothing "ut peace and prosperity.

4/ #tart a "usiness% start a farm% start a mine% theres sla!es to handle e!erything% all you ha!e to do is tell them what

to do and sit "ack and watch the gold roll in. The nati!es think were gods or something and they happily ser!e.

Why #ren’t $ou There No% Then?

Part 2: The Deal

There are many cheap places on a fleet heading for ort +eldenhammer. It costs 1DD C for a place% and there is a

discount for those the 'mpire needs in that location% this co!ers warriors 81DE to >:E depending on apparent

strength and skill9% farmers 8:DE9% and academics 81DE to :DE with wi6ards and clerics gaining the most discount9.Those with sailing skills can easily find a place on a ship and will gain a purse of 1DDC when they reach ort

+eldenhammer% this is to encourage them to stay and use the money to settle there rather than head "ack to the

'mpire.

The party are assigned "unks on a !essel called ,the Intrepid to "e captained "y +artwig +ockmann. $ num"er of

"a&tain Hocmann $ tall and slender man with wild red hair. +e has numerous tri"al tattoos gained from the

!arious trips he has made to Lustria. +e is well known as a competent captain and has tra!elled the routes to the

southlands often. It is rumoured that the 'mpire is going to offer him a na!al command for his participation in this

!enture. This is something he is said to cra!e since Aark 'lf rea!ers sank the !essel he purchased with years of

profit. It was captained "y his long<term friend and trusted ate who was either killed or captured. +ockmann

dislikes 'l!es in general "ecause of this% "ut sa!es his primary rancour for those of 0aggaroth. $n 'lf who

distinguishes himself defending the ship will earn his respect.

$ny decent defence of the Intrepid will earn a seat at the captains ta"le. The meal is "ig% "etter )uality% andthe toast is always to ,the "loody slaughter of e!ery single Aark 'lf that soils the world with their e!ery stinking !ile

The se&arated south of the city is lined by one of the most admired si'hts in the )ld World. The Hi'h 2rid'e

has t%o to%ers lancin' u&%ard into the sy. +oads %ind u& around the massive s&ires and access the lofty stone

brid'e that stretches across the %aters. "arts and %a'ons are tiny u&on this s&ectacularly immense construction.

The hu'e tem&le of (anaan rises above the affluent citysca&e. The decorations are some of the most

city.

#t one of the lar'er docs is 'athered a si'nificant fleet. T%elve massive shi&s are tain' on su&&lies.

There are two ,$rk !essels that are loaded up with cattle% sheep% and fowl to "olster the supplies and negate the

need to rely on the often unruly and aggressi!e indigenous animal life. There is a !essel with many sacks of seed to

"e sold at a discount rate to the farmers arri!ing in the port and assist in getting fields of crops going and making the

colony more self sufficient.

There are si( Imperial warships to pro!ide escort and make sure the fleet arri!es safely and there are nine

large !essels to carry those who are going to Lustria. The party and can stow their gear in the main hold that is kept under constant guard to pre!ent pilfering. The

numerous ca"ins are large and all ha!e ten closely spaced hammocks in them to pro!ide effecti!e if crampedaccommodation.

The ad!enturers can now pass the time in the great port of arien"urg while waiting for the day they set sail.

Because of all the added population% there are numerous distractions to occupy them. any sideshows and other

draw their forces into protection rather than mounting any attacks on the fleet. This is a precautionary measure to

ensure that all those who ha!e "een recruited make it to ort +eldenhammer and that enemy nations do not strike

the fleet and hamper colonisation.

The 2ourney to the ort a!erages around fi!e and a half to si( months.

1! Troops

$ num"er of Imperial soldiers and mercenaries ha!e !olunteered to lea!e the 'mpire and man the fort at the

headwaters of the ri!er that access ort +eldenhammer. They are generally those with little in the way of ties to the

'mpire and who lack the skill to ad!ance in their chosen career. They are eager to settle into a less stressful and

dangerous en!ironment where all the usual mortal ha6ards are rare. There are a num"er of !eterans who ha!e had

good knowledge of the $rcane tongue of the #lann and wants to unearth more of the secrets that his fathers

e(plorations touched upon "ut ne!er fully del!ed into.

4! Treasure hunters

Those seeking places where wealth can "e found and looted. They are competiti!e and reticent on what they know.

#ome may ha!e a secret map or scrap of data that they "elie!e will guide them to riches. They are generally wellarmed and in a group that will make them look little different to standard ad!enturers.

7ouis /mit  $ former ra!ero""er who turned to the looting of tom"s. Gnfortunately% the pickings in the 'mpire are

thinning and if he mo!es his operation to the mountains% furious Awar!es and the risk of undead rise dramatically.

The image of crypts deserted for hundreds if not thousands of years with solid gold draped all o!er the "ody ha!e

capti!ated his greed and he is sailing to Lustria with his two assistants/apprentices. +e sees nothing wrong with his

profession. If those who want such anti)uities for study or display want them% then they can pay for them. +e isnt

going to risk his life poking around in the 2ungle "ecause he finds it amusing. '(plorers generally ha!e rich parents

to fund them% he is a common man and isnt that lucky.
