RESEARCH: SETTING EXPECTATIONS

• Before you start thinking about the users or the site structure, it is essential that you get a clear outline from the clients as to what is required and expected.

• This will allow you both to plan the project & identify key deliverables.

• Focus groups work well as you can generate debate.

• Interviews will allow you to get direct opinions from people.

• Always good to use stats. Google Analytics allows you to understand traffic to the current websites.

• When sketching the different users you need to think of the following options: • Name of user • Age • Education • Family background • Personality traits • User profile • Key motivations • Rhetoric • Decision Influences
