It is the Kliuchevski basalt near the east coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula in eastern Siberia, Russia. The Kliuchevskoy, symmetrical and covered with snow, is the highest and most active of a chain of volcanoes along Kamchatka. It was formed about 6000 years ago and since then has produced frequent explosive and effusive eruptions.
