FELTHAM HIRA NEWSLETTER— BRINGING MORE TO THE COMMUNITY
The summer is now gone and we all keep very good memories of it. There were
many opportumities to gather, to worship and to celebrate, together. Have a look
on page 1 and 2 for a short overview of the events we had. It was heartwarming to
be part of the Muslim Community of Feltham at these occasions. This increases our
will to keep serving you.
This summer we also asked you to fill a survey to tell us what you want for the HIRA.
You can see the results on page 2 followed by what we have started putting in place
to respond to your requests.
As the new school year has strarted, we also have started our usual activties and we
are also proposing a range of new programmes and activities, have a look on page
3 and 4. We wish you a great year (new school and a year and new hijri year).
Thank you for your continuous support and please continue making duas for us.
Omer El-Hamdoon, Executive Manager
With our hearts and our strength, we have followed the
Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad by fasting
on the Day of Arafah and shared an iftar, at the
Feltham Assembly
Hall.
It was rejoicing to see our many brothers and sisters joining us and sharing their meal. May Allah accept our fast and increase our faith.
HIJRAH EVENT
This year, for the new hijri year, we went
through the journey of Hijra with our imams
with beautiful reminders about the lessons of
the hijrah, the importance of time and how to
plan efficiently the upcoming year. Alongside
our Imam Mohammad Sayed and Executive
Manager Dr Omer El-Hamdoon, we had
guest speaker Imam Abdessamad.
This event was also accompanied by an
activities programme for the children centred around the theme of the hijrah. Over
40 children participated.
We ended the event with light refreshments and delightful entertainment for kids
and adults.
ARAFAH IFTAR
IT’S BEEN A FULL SUMMER
HIRA ARABIC WEEKEND SCHOOL
The HIRA School has
opened and will provide by
the will of Allah Islamic
knowledge and Arabic
language to children on
Saturdays and Sundays.
Headteacher: Faouzi Saffar
(Trustee)
VISIT OF MUHAMMAD JIBREEL
Sheikh Muhammad Jibreel
was born in Egypt and learnt
the Quran at the age of 9.
He won a number of national
and international
competitions of Quran
recitation. Today he is well
known in tha Arab world for
his recitation of the Holy
Quran.
Sheikh Muhammad Jibreel
honoured us by his visit on
Friday 22nd August where
he first offered a beautiful
recitation; and then led the
Jumu’ah prayer - in Arabic -
and addressed the different
aspects of taqwa (piety) in
modern societies. Dr Omer
El-Hamdoon translated the
highlights of the Khutbah into
English.
We are grateful and ask
Allah to bless and protect
him.

We wanted to add an extra joy to those
who passed their GCSE or A’ Level exams
this year. We invited parents to register
their children. We received only one
response this time.
The parents of Muhammed Mohalil Samadi
registered their son, who got some great
GCSE results. He was awarded with a
certificate, some gifts and words of
encouragement by our Imam after the
Jumu’ah Prayer.
We are proud of him and of all our youth
who passed their exams, ma sha Allah. May Allah facilitate them to continue
walking the path of knowledge!
This summer we asked you to share
your views and wishes for the Feltham
HIRA Association. The survey was
available online and in hard copy
distributed during Friday prayers.
We would like to thank the 37 people
have responded, 61% of women and
39% of males who took the time to
respond.
The results have shown that most of you hear the latest news about HIRA via
social media and during Jumu’ah prayers. We will keep communicating with
you via these outlets.
Make sure you follow us on Facebook (@Feltham HIRA Masjid) so you don’t
miss any of our activities. We will also send a newsletter by email as 37%
have requested (please subscribe to our newsletter via our
website www.hira.org.uk) and send announcement via WhatApp for those
who wishes (please send a whatsApp to 07469 147968).
We asked you what would you like the Feltham HIRA to focus its activities on.
A large majority have requested
to organise more activities for
children and youth, provide
Islamic Knowledge, programmes
which will support the Muslims
on their daily life (health, family
issues, marriage topic, etc…) as
well as activities focused on
sisters and their needs.

TOUR DE SALAH FOR FELTHAM HIRA CENTRE
It’s EASY, QUICK & FREE - And it helps A LOT!
Tour de Salah is an exciting physical event for all the family, which aims -
through cycling - to get people active.
You can support the Feltham HIRA Health Initiative, by participating in
the bike challenge. The challenge is organised by Tour de Salah to be
held on the 29th of September.
It is now well documented that the BAME (Black and Asian Minority
Ethnics), suffer from more health issues than other ethnicities. Through
the Quran and the Sunnah, we learn that our health is a treasure than we
need to take care of. And Allah and His Messenger (pbuh) also taught us
how to look after our health and become healthier.
So as a Community Centre, we will accompany Sisters, Brothers and
children in improving their attitude towards their health. To receive
updates about this project, follow us on Facebook (@Feltham HIRA
Masjid) or join our broadcast group (you only receive messages from us
and your details aren’t shared with anyone) on 07469 147968, you can
also keep an eye on our website www.hira.org.uk
To support the Feltham HIRA Health Initiative, please donate via our
website or text ‘hira 5’ to 88802 to receive the donation link (standard
cost).
