Football Season Wrap Up
Orange Team SJMS 6 Evans MS- 16 The Orange Tigers played their last game as 7th graders against the Evans Panthers. Joseph Bennett started off with a 73 yard run to put the Tigers in position to take their first lead of the season. Unfortunately, after a few miscues and penalties, the Tigers would be forced a turnover of downs. The Tigers defense was ready for the challenge to get the ball back to their offense by showing tremendous effort, heart, and team pursuit. The back and forth action would continue for an entire half, ending the score at 0-0. It wasn't until a big break by the Panthers late in the third quarter that gave the Panthers their first lead. The Tigers got down by two touchdowns, but continued to fight back as Joseph Bennett made a TD run that would bring the Tigers within a touchdown. The Tigers almost got the onside kick but failed to convert. In all, the Orange Tigers continued to get better each game this season, and Coach Sampson is very proud of their effort.
