Man what a GREAT summer

at last! We have had some

great cruises this summer

so far. It started with the

Vacation Connection cruise

to Port Townsend. Bill &

Peggy Allen did a fantastic

job with the food. They had

a great crew to help with the

food. I have to hand it to the

Allen's for coming even

though they had no boat.

Their boat was broke but

they were the cruise cap-

Paula made a game of going

through the town and find-

Vice Commodore’s Report - Peggy Allen

Summer!! Better late than

never. What a surprise to

have such gorgeous warm

weather into September.

The slow start to summer

hasn’t kept our members

from cruising. I have heard

that many of our members

went north and found great

weather. For those of on

the lake there were many

great week-ends at Andrews

Bay. I can’t wait to hear

everyone’s cruising adven-

tures when we meet again

this month.

Now that fall is upon us it’s

time to start thinking about

the Fall Work Party on Octo-

ber 1. There are plenty of

maintenance jobs to be

done and gardening chores

as well as just cleaning up

and preparing the club for

winter. It’s amazing how

many people turn out to

pitch in for these work par-

ties and how much gets

accomplished. It’s not just

hard work. It’s one of the

best team building events

I’ve ever been participated

in.

The Commodore’s Ball is

less than two months away.

Our Commodore Bill Dils will

be honored for his dedica-

tion and leadership on No-

vember 5. The plans for

the evening are underway.

There will be food, music,

and a tribute to Bill and Sue.

Please mark the date on

your calendar. This is an

event you will not want to

miss.

We’ll see you at the Septem-

ber meeting. Take care and

be safe.

Summer has gone by in a

flash! It is hard to believe

that another summer cruis-

ing season is coming to a

close. We got Anna off to

college (Willamette Univer-

sity) and I am fortunate

enough to be writing these

words while swinging on the

hook in Prevost Harbor off

of Stuart Island. We have

enjoyed good weather and

almost all the crab we can

eat.

I have a lot of great memo-

ries from this summer. From

kicking off Dock Fridays to a

fun packed 4th of July, I've

spent more time on the club

docks this summer than I

have in all previous years

combined. Add to that the

summer cruises and im-

promptu get-togethers with

club friends and it reaffirms

the true joys of being part of

the club.

Before summer completely

slips away, we think we

should send it off in grand

PSYC style. Patrick Kolanda

and the Morton's are work-

ing to put together an End of

Summer Party on the Dock.

This will be a live music

event with the fabulous

blues band Mary Mcpage

and the Assassins. We are

still working to confirm the

details but put a hold on

your calendars for Friday,

Sept 30th. The plan calls for

a dockside BBQ and side

dish potluck. The details are

being finalized, so look for

information at the meeting

and via email. This looks to

be an epic event!

Hot on the heals of this

party comes a PSYC corner-

stone event, the Wine Tour.

This year's tour is headed to

the Tri-Cities. Judy Quick has

put together a wonderful

tour this year. For you veter-

ans of the tour, it will oper-

ate a bit differently from

previous years. Rather than

following a set schedule,

Judy has put together an

exciting list of suggested

wineries to visit at your own

pace. This gives you the

option to spend more time

at your favorites or try to hit

them all in rapid fire. You

can then compare notes

and share stories when we

all come together for the

great meals. More details

can be found elsewhere in

this issue or feel free to con-

tact Judy via phone or email.

While the summer cruising

season is ending, we are

entering a period of some of

my favorite weather and

some great fall boating.

Also, keep an eye on your

email and in Sound Waves

because I still have a few

surprises up my sleeve for

the last half of the year.
