Members Present: Danelle Crary, Carson Crary, Brent Roeder, Clayton Forseth, Josh DeVos, Salina DeVos, Ashle Morris, Caroline Roeder, Tracie Roeder, Susan Snyder, Jane Wolery and Karen Forseth. Meeting was called to order at 6:05pm at the County Annex Building by Danelle Crary. Minutes: Minutes from previous meeting were moved to be approved by Carson. Ashle seconded. Motion carried. Treasurer’s Report: Current Balance of $9,652.83 in account. Old Business: 1. There was discussion on options for keeping steers from stepping off scale as well as work on pig alleyway.The question of certifying the scale was brought up and Danelle would investigate it for the next meeting. Noactions taken. 2. Flax bedding was discussed. Shavings were the preferred bedding but at higher cost. Committee members willtry to find cheapest shavings. Salina will contact supplier in Missoula. Ashle will contact Fleet. Josh will contactAce in Great Falls. Karen will contact Choteau Ace. No actions taken. 3. State carcass winners update: a. Audrey Hutton 15th Statewide Lamb Carcass b. Addie Pearson 3rd Place Heavy Hog Carcass c. Kaylie Bender 2nd Place Goat Carcass 4. Ryan Perry will be asked back to auctioneer for the 2019 Livestock Sale. Clayton will contact Ryan and also askif sound system can be made louder for the sale. 5. Options for Large Animal Judge were discussed: Chad Murnane, Josh Stroh, Dylan Enyhart and TravisStandley. No action taken. Carcass judges were also discussed. New Business: 1. Bill of Sale and Assessments: Ashle moved to collect the Bill of Sale for steers at the same time the paperwork and assessments were due forthe steer projects. Carson seconded. The Livestock Committee discussed changing the Agreement/Registrationform to read “…fee, paperwork, photo and Bill of Sale are NOT received by the Extension Office by the finaldeadline listed below, I will not be allowed to show or sell my market animal at the fair.” Motion carried. 2. Livestock possession dates and fees: Market Beef: January 7. $80 Market Swine: April 8. $60 Market Sheep: April 22. $40 Market Goat: April 22. $40 Breeding Animals: When entering for the fair in May. $10/species Carson moved to accept fees and dates as listed. Karen seconded. Motion carried. 3. Processing/Hauling/Judging/Back Hauling: Swine/Lamb/Goat-Vandevanters Beef-Christiaens Committee is looking into insurance for the volunteers hauling animals to the processors through the National 4-H. Clayton moved to eliminate hauling ‘buddy animals’ to the processors. Carson seconded. It was discussed thatlack of available space at processors, travel arrangements and liability were issues regarding thehauling/processing of buddy animals. Motion carried. 4. Officer Elections: Josh DeVos was voted in as Vice-President by unanimous consent. Ashle Morris was voted in as Treasurer byunanimous consent. Next Meeting: January 14, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the Courthouse Annex Meeting Adjourned at 7:30pm

State EventsRec Lab Chester, MT March 22-24This event provides an opportunity for youth and adults to enhance their leadership, communication and teambuilding skills in an action packed and interactive setting. Rec Lab programming is designed to provideparticipants with tips and tricks for being a better club, camp and community leader. This year's theme is "4-H:Investigating the Possibilities". Club MinutesOld Agency Michaela Gunderson

On September 24, 2018, the Old Agency Club had our meeting. The meeting began with thePledge of Allegiance and the 4-H pledge. Attendance was taken, and the Secretary’s reportwas read. Claire moved to accept the minutes and Andrew seconded it. Motion passed. TheTreasurer’s report was read, and we currently have a balance of $3010.38. Kale moved toaccept the report and Charlie seconded. Motion passed. In old business, Claire, Addi andDillon spoke about the 4-H fair and their projects. Kale talked about 4-H camp and Danieladded onto that. Daniel also mentioned that Congress was a blast. In new business, we heldelections. Delaynie was nominated for President, Adelena for Vice President, Michaela forSecretary, Claire, Natalie, and Andrew for Historian, Kale and Dillon for Recreational Leader,and finally Addi and Maddox for Reporter. The next meeting will be held on October 8th. Themeeting was adjourned by Daniel and was seconded by Sam.

Montana Models Bozeman, MT August 4-8Montana Models is a FREE four-night summer camp at MSU in Bozeman where you get to work on mathproblems that matter and find answers that can make a difference in our world! The camp includes a night at theMuseum of the Rockies, a field day in Hyalite Canyon and more. Call the office for more information.

National EventsPhotography Summit Maryland February 28-March 3The National Youth Summit on photography brings young people together to engage in a timeless art form in asetting filled with historical architecture, beautiful landscapes, and more. The Summit is open to students ingrades 9-12. Club Minutes

Challenging Champs Casey Simons

November Meeting was held November 18, 2018 Sydney Simons led the American Pledge and Trey Stengrimson led the 4-H Pledge. Members present were Amara Bodkins, Sydney Simons, Annie Deikhans, Calvin Deikhans,Trey Stengrimson, Jordyn Stengrimson, Jessica Toeckes, Caleb Toeckes, Casey Simons Secretary’s report: Club leader has constitutional by-laws in a box, Election of officers washeld, November 25-Tree lighting, August 15-Record books are due, Good comments onclubs gym cleaning, Gift tree tags continuing, Sydney moved to accept the minutes. Treasurer Report: We payed assessment bill, Club balance- $ 2,413.41, Trey motioned toaccept the minutes. Old Business: Make it with Wool contest, Legion Christmas Party, Changing our Christmasparty to December 9th at 4:30. New Business: Legislative Breakfast- Contact Office for more information. Giving Tree Tags- Leona brought them to the meeting for everyone. Everyone except Laura Toeckes was signed up for 4-H. Demonstrations will be January 6 for Casey, Jersey, and Zane. Lissy is doing an activity for the 4-H Christmas Party. We are taking Cloverbuds out of the meeting so they can do their own crafts while olderCloverbuds and other members listen and are involved in the meeting. Jordyn motioned to adjourn the meeting and Sydney seconded that.

On October 8, 2018, the Old Agency Club participated in highway cleanup and 16 memberswere present. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H pledge. In oldbusiness, we discussed enrollment and the upcoming food drive. In new business, wediscussed annual dues. Daniel moved that the club pay the dues and Sam seconded.Motion passed. The yearly program plan for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health was tableduntil the next meeting by Daniel. Addi seconded this and the motion passed. There was alsodiscussion about the 4-H Ambassador Program. Daniel motioned for the club to pay forsafety vests and garbage bags and Kale seconded. Addi was put in charge of writing thedeputies a thank you note as they were a big help in slowing down traffic during highwaycleanup. Club members should be thinking about the upcoming Christmas party which willbe discussed at the next meeting. Bellamy moved to adjourn the meeting and Maddoxseconded it.

Extension EventsTHRIVE

THRIVE, The Montana State University (MSU) Center for Mental Health Research andRecovery is collaborating with MSU Extension and One Montana to evaluate an interactive,computerized Cognitive Behavior Therapy (cCBT) program designed to improve mood andreduce anxiety symptoms. Project leaders hope to recruit hundreds of Montanans for thestudy. To be eligible to join the study, one must be a current Montana adult resident, have regularaccess to broadband internet, and have depressive symptoms that are at least mild. Interestedindividuals can determine their eligibility to join the study by going tohttps://thriveformontana.com and answering a few questions. The program should open mid-October. If eligible, participants may automatically enroll in the study and will be assigned toeither receive the Thrive program immediately, or for those randomly assigned to the controlgroup, eight weeks after starting the study.

Solid FinancesSolid Finances is a webinar series that offers free financial education opportunities for adults. Solid Finances doesn't sell any products or endorse any companies. Solid Finances givesconsumers the tools they need to make sound financial decisions for their situation. This fall, Solid Finances will include a series of classes on insurance (auto, flood, and life)followed by a session on the psychology of money. That will be followed by a review somepopular personal financial books. The fall will wrap up with sessions on flexible spending plans,year-end financial opportunities and charity ratings. Small Business WebinarsThese webinars can be joined live or viewed in recorded version. YAM ClassesYouth Aware of Mental Health, YAM, is an interactive program for adolescents promotingincreased discussion and knowledge about mental health, suicide prevention, and thedevelopment of problem-solving skills and emotional intelligence. YAM brings differentlearning methods together with the fundamental components of the program being as follows:five interactive sessions, role-playing, informational reading materials and posters for displayin the classroom. There will be YAM classes held January through March in the Choteau and Dutton/BradySchools. A class was held in the fall in Fairfield.
