Sample data set should consist of between 15 and 70 examples of addresses (depending on country specific complexity and variety) representing all supported address formats. Please find attached excel file that is intended to assist in submitting data. Attached excel spreadsheet lists the most common address types (PO Box, street address, etc.) and prompts country expert to provide address example(s) of each supported type. There are 18 address types listed. Some of them can be represented in several ways depending on the availability of street system, location of post office or some local traditions or constraints. Please provide all recommended variations. If formats different from listed are supported in your country please provide them in the area 19 (Other). Please provide ONLY examples of addresses that are recommended. Examples that are often used but are not recommended should not be provided or they should be clearly marked and not recommended or incorrect. Countries where non-Latin writing systems are used in the inbound cross- border mail are requested to provide sample both in Latin and in the local script (Thai, 漢漢 hànzi, etc.). Data samples will be analyzed and mapped to S42 elements. Analysis and mapping will be done in cooperation with country experts. At the end data

Dear all,

First step for the new S42 template is submission of sample data.

Countries where non-Latin writing systems are used in the inbound cross-border mail are requested to provide sample both in Latin and in the local script (Thai, 漢字 hànzi, etc.).

Note that if privacy or security issues are of concern than fictitious data (fictitious names of people and organizations) instead of actual data can be provided.

Data samples will be analyzed and mapped to S42 elements. Analysis and mapping will be done in cooperation with country experts. At the end data sample will be in the standardized spreadsheet like the one for South Africa in the attachment.

Note that Mongolia and Malaysia have already provided data sample and for India UPU collected a sample that needs to be validated. Therefore for those 3 countries we can start third phase: Data clarification. I will contact these countries separately.

Deadline for data submission is 15 December 2010.

Dear Mr. Zulkifli,

Thank you for message. It is very pleasing to hear that Indonesia Post agreed to join the project.

You will find attached message that was send to clarify data collection. It will be possible to complete all work for Indonesian template before the workshop, providing that sample is available by March 7th. Please take note that the sample does not need to be in the final form and it will, most likely, be modified through next steps (data clarification, template development and workshop). Therefore we do not require a perfect sample but only good enough to start the work.

Will one month be sufficient to collect required sample?
