Small patches of po, and spots of cu. at the bottom contact.Medium grained hornblende chlorite schist, l break per 2 feet. Fairly massive, slightly schistose and broken, Very minor spots of pyrite and po, with the joints at 50 ft to the core axis.

Probably contaminated by the gneiss belovt- could be classified os a transition zone. Contacts orofague and contains only minor pyrite throughout. The lastfoot of core has porphyroblastic feldspar and appears asthough the rock has been goound up and re-consolidated.

Quartz - Feldspar Gneiss.Medium grained, white to gray In colour. Approximately 108biotite foliated at 55* to the core axis. The remainderappears to be feldspar, and possibly greater than 205*quartz In this section. Some continuous bands of biotitei" wide, but mainly occurs as fine clots and lenses.

At 159.8, 160.7, 161.5, and 163.2- i" rose quartz string ers at 50e to 60" to the core axis, approximately 4" wide.

The hornblende gneiss appears to be younger than the quartzfeldspar gneiss. 1 break per foot, corns porphyr6blasf le ;~-(feldspar, the upper contact at 600 to the core axis.

Chlorite - Muscovite Schist cont'd

Possibly some feldspar, but no visible quartz. Green to silvery gray In colour. Both contacts gradational. The gneiss developes a weak follatlon near the contacts, l break per foot. Near the bottom contact the rock Is fine grained, granular In texture, with some quartz, but mainly biotite, rather than muscovite as It grades to the gneiss below. Could be brown mica or phlogopite.

Quartz - Feldspar GneissThe majority of this section Is similar to the first section In the hole, but there Is a slight gneissosity In the quartz - feldspar bands, with darker gray bands of femlcs,(biotite - amphibole). Quartz - feldspar approxim ately i" wide alternating with l" bands of femic rich arees -banding at 400 to the core axis. Minor spots of chalco pyrite. The gneiss Is In general contaminated with the schist so that darker sections only contain up to 556 quartz.

Chlorite ~ Biotite SchistWeak to moderate foliation at 450 to the core axis, (Some sections more massive but approximately all chlorite and biotite with some amphibole. The hardness of the rock Indicates more amphibole than Is visible, rather than heavy chloritization. Minor feldspar, no visible quartz. Green In colour, l break per foot, with 2ft to 356 pyrite and chalcopyrite,46.0 - 47,4 Possible fragment? Sharp contacts at 55e
