GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS Management reserves the right to cancel or combine any given class that does not fill to their satisfaction. This show is open to all; however the SSITS Show Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry. Management reserves the right to make changes of judges or class order to facilitate time schedule and condition, and the right to start the first class of any session 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled time if entries warrant. Emailed entries will be accepted if followed with a chq in the mail.A parent or legal guardian must sign the entry for a Junior exhibitor and the junior’s birth date must be given. Insurance: For insurance purposes, all competitors (owners, owner/agents and riders) must be fully paid and current BC Horse Council members. Dogs: All dogs must be on a leash on the show grounds please. Scratches: PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF THE SHOW - Exhibitors canceling after closing date shall forfeit their entry fees except in the case of disability of entry. Entries will be refunded only upon the presentation to the Show Secretary a certificate of disability from a qualified Veterinarian PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF THE SHOW. A $25.00 fee or 15% of entry (whichever is greater) will be charged on all cancellations. Post Entries: Entries will be accepted at Base Cost + $40.00.

Changes: There will be a $5.00 office charge per add/scratch sheet if done the day before the competition starts for horses already entered prior to closing date.AN OPEN CHEQUE MUST BE PRESENTED TO THE HORSE SHOW SECRETARY WHEN PICKING UP NUMBER. ALL CHANGES MUST BE MADE NO LATER THAN 1/2 HOUR AFTER THE LAST CLASS OF THE DAY. LATE AND SAME DAY CHANGES WILL BE CHARGED $10.00. Entered and Did not Compete: Any exhibitor who does not compete in class(s) in which the exhibitor is officially entered, and does not scratch according to the Scratch Procedures outlined above, will be billed for the class(s). Camping hook up for the week is $25 Parking in designated areas only. Fire lanes must be kept open. No parking between indoor and stabling areas, please Protests: Should any question or dispute arise not provided for in these rules, it shall be referred to the Show Committee whose decision will be final. Warm up: Hunter & Jumper warm up available on Wednesday, starting at 8am. $30

Stabling: Stabling is available beginning Wednesday, May 19th, 9am, and ending Sunday 6:00pm. Limited stabling so please enter early - $180 4 days, $135 3 days, – if you can’t find someone to share a stall with contact Judy for assistance. Paramedic Fee: $10 per horse.

Protective Headgear: Must be worn at all Primary, Provincial, National Equine Canada & USEF sanctioned competitions. All competitors must wear proper fitting, approved protective headgear, with the safety harness correctly secured at all times while mounted on competition or event grounds. Approved headgear must meet the ASTM standards and displays the SEI seal. The British standard is also acceptable. Any rider violating this rule at any time will be immediately prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place. Hors Concours – Are not allowed in the hunter ring and will be allowed in the jumper ring at the discretion of management. If you need extra hunter trips that day please enter the SSITS schooling hunter, Class 911 on the day entries only. To be judged but no ribbons awarded. Awards: Rosettes tri strand 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Rosettes single strand 4th, 5th Prize Money: Distributed below unless otherwise stated beside class spec’s. Jumpers - 30%,25%,20%,15%,10%, VIHJA YEAR END POINTS: All Hunter and Jumper classes that correspond with VIHJA points classes at this show will count for VIHJA year end points. See VIHJA rules for eligibility of these classes. Memberships: This is a sanctioned VIHJA recognized event and will be governed by the rules and regulations of the HCBC Rule Book 2017 and by specifications outlined in the Prize list herein. All entries must be a current 2017 member of HCBC and of the VIHJA. The SSITS Seaon Opener and Sun Bowl is a BC SUMMER GAMES COWICHAN Qualifier competition. Please check with HCBC on specs.

All competitors, trainers and horse owners at VIHJA sanctioned events must be members of VIHJA and Horse Council BC prior to competing. It is recommended that all competitors confirm the correctness of their entry with the show office before check out (correct horse name, owner, rider and trainer), as this the data that is used to calculate points. Entrants will be expected to provide their membership cards or photocopies of same prior to receiving numbers at the horse show. All shows will count toward point totals. Each competitor’s points will be tabulated for year End awards. BC Games qualifying classes are at this show.
