The Diocesan Catholic Youth Conference (DCYC) will take place at the Waco Convention Center Jan. 29-31. At DCYC, participants will experience keynote speak-ers Father Joseph Espaillat, Sister Miriam James Heidland, Michael “Gomer” Gormley, Sacraments, music, prayer, workshops, entertainment and more, all woven together under this year's theme of "Restless." We are counting on the kindness of our parishioners who would like to sponsor, in whole or in part, one of our youth to enable them to attend this conference, please contact Becky Salazar or Frances Lopez at the church office. Registration is open and participants may register or find out more information from the par-ish office. Don't miss out on this annual opportunity to help a teen to encounter Christ in a fun, unique way.

Church Project 2016: To have new church pews, kneelers and carpet. From the bids we received for these works, we are estimat-ing around $ 120,000. We need to start saving for these goals. Should you like to make a monetary donation, pay for a pew or a kneeler, please do so by contacting the church office. Thank you for your generosity.

The finance council will meet on January 25th at 6 pm. All members are asked to reserve the date and be in attendance.

YEAR OF MERCY: SHARE MERCY “It is my burning desire that, during this Jubilee, the Chris-tian people may reflect on the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. It will be a way to reawaken our conscience, too often grown dull in the face of poverty. And let us enter more deeply into the heart of the Gospel where the poor have a special experience of God’s mercy. . . . The preaching of Jesus is made visible once more in the response of faith which Christians are called to offer by their witness. May the words of the Apostle accompany us: he who does acts of mercy, let him do them with cheerfulness (cf. Rom 12:8). ” - Pope Francis, Misericordiae Vultus 15-16

HOW TO PRAY THE DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET

Using an ordinary rosary, with five decades of beads: 1. Make the sign of the cross

2. Pray an Our Father and Hail Mary, and say the Apostles’ Creed.

3. On the large bead of the first decade, pray: “Eternal Father, I offer you the body and blood, soul and divinity of your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.”

4. On the 10 small beads that follow, pray: “For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”

5. Repeat the prayers of steps three (“Eternal Fa-ther ...”) and four (“For the sake of his sorrowful Passion ...”), on the remaining beads (for a total of five decades).

6. Conclude by praying the following prayer three times: “Holy God, holy Mighty One, holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”

Priestly Ordination for the Diocese of Austin - we give thanks to God for giving us another priest for the dio-cese of Austin. Deacon Everadro Cazares' ordina-tion was held at St. John Vianney in Austin yesterday. We continue to pray for more vocations and support for our seminarians.
