SJ , Don Fives Meec-Ait President Tells About Budget, Ceilings Today

Soloists for Tonight’s Concert

A report to the faculty on the latest developments on enrollment ceiling, capital outlay budgets. and �-other matters pending in the state ;

gislature will be made at a gen-; ral faculty meeting today by Dr. John T. Wahlquise college presi-dent.

Dr. Wah.lquist currently is studying recommendations of the Faculty Council which propose that the number of recommending units for admission be raised, that subjects in which recommending ..nits are earned be defined, and that regulations concerning dis-qualification and reinstatement of students be toughened. �

The council also recommended at its last meeting that any ceiling imposed on the college by the state legislature be adhered to.

Dr. Wahlquist had no comment to make on the council’s resolu-tions.

Copies of two publications will be distributed to those attending the faculty meeting. One is a bro-chure which graphically portrays the need for additional buildings by the state colleges. It was pub-lished by the Council of Stale Col-h�ge Presidents.

The second publication to be dis-tributed is the February issue of the- Califmnia Schools, which in-cludes a feature on San Jose State and pictures the inner quad and tower on the cover. The drawing was done by John DeVincenii of �1:e art faculty.
