The Sacramento Ragtime Society met on February 26, 2012 at the Red Lion. This month we had a full house of musicians, listeners, and dancers. Cherie and Wally Oliver, renowned elegant dancers at the West Coast Ragtime Festivals, danced during several of the group performances. At the October meeting, Allan Rogers brought Jonathan Meredith, who promised to return in early 2012 and this month marked their return. We also welcomed Jonathan’s wife Margo Meredith, who joined their group on the violin. Announced at the meeting: Next month the Sacramento Ragtime Society will begin its 30

First Meeting of Sacramento Ragtime Society

Sunday, March 28, 1982 Mansion Inn

700 16th Street, Sacramento, CA This is Doug Parker’s historical document of what was played at the first meeting of the Sacramento Ragtime Society reformatted in the style currently used for meeting playlists. You’ll see that just about everything played that day was hardcore Ragtime with lots of classics by Joplin, Lamb and Scott and a few surprising rarities. Clearly the Society was off to a great start.
