Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Lord, Welcome to Sacred Heart Church!!

It is a blessing to have you join our worshiping community as we celebrate our Eucharistic Liturgy for the 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time. We are enriched by your prayerful participation. May the words of

Sacred Scripture enlighten your mind and the Bread of Life nourish your faith. Thanks for joining us! Have you noticed the banners on the front of the Church over the front doors?? Sacred Heart does welcome Pope Francis and the World Meeting of Families to our Archdiocese this September. Parents, I encourage you to explore the events, speakers and activities that are part of the World Meeting of Families. This is a great opportunity to mingle with families from the world community and learn more about issues impacting family life. Our Parish Staff has been discussing Pope Francis’ visit and the best means of transportation to the Papal Mass on Sunday, September 27. Not knowing how close buses will drop off people for the Parkway and how the “pick up” would work for a return trip, we recommend the train or the El line as the easiest and most direct way to the Papal Mass. We expect “walking” to be necessary, no matter what means of transportation you use. Consider volunteering for the World Meeting of Families. There are many roles you could fulfill as a volunteer. Also, if you care to donate money to help the Archdiocese cover the cost of the Pope’s visit, there is a donation box in the front of the Church, Blessed Mother’s side.

Sacred Heart School ended the school year on Friday. I thank Mrs. Celie Magee, our Principal, the teachers and staff for their dedication in educating the children entrusted to their care. We are blessed!! Peace be with you! God bless,

Fr. McKee

PS. Thanks to the Knights of Columbus for the “treats” after the Sunday Masses!
