Alto Panels are for horses with a prominent wither and a greater

height distance between their wither and back. It has a deeper

panel at the front and back of the saddle, allowing greater

clearance over the wither and spine. A front gusset provides

extra padding to sit properly behind the wither,

where this type of horse usually lacks muscle.

Corto Panels are designed for horses with well developed,

short-coupled backs. The panel is shorter to eliminate weighting

the loin area, and the gusset is flatter in order to better fit the

contours normally found on this type of horse.

The flaps on the PESSOA saddles are available in different size

options, according to the height of the rider and length of their legs.

These options offer the rider the freedom of choosing a saddle

in the perfect size. Standard size is regular for all saddles,

but there are three available options you can choose instead of

regular flap. The difference of length between every option is of 1”.

MASTER FIT

Classical riders like Nelson Pessoa know exactly where the rider’s

weight should fall on the horse’s back. It was Nelson who first designed

a tree that would allow the saddle to help the rider find that position.

A Pessoa saddle encourages the riders to find their perfect sweet spot

of balance whether it is dressage or jumping.

All Pessoa saddle trees are made of Carbon fibre. This is a very light but

incredibly strong material that will save valuable kilos in the total weight

of the saddle improving your horses comfort and performance.

The AMS® System has been designed to allow a perfect union

between horse and rider. This system eliminates hot spots by

dispersing any pressure variances of the flocking within the panels,

thanks to the exclusive pressure stabilizing neoprene layer.

Traditional style wool - and synthetic - flocked panels can

bunch up, causing hot spots and uneven pressure. As time goes by,

this panel require constant adjustments and reflocking because

of shifting during use.

The AMS® system however utilises a sprecial neoprene layer which

provides a soft, consistent layer to support the rider’s weight on

the back of the horse. This layer will absorb impacts and distribute

pressure evenly for maximum comfort and freedom of movement for

your horse. Saddles with AMS® panels can be re-flocked and fitted

to your horse, just like traditional wool flocked panels.

Every tree is moulded with polymers specially designed by Dupont®.

The trees bring together flexibility and ultra-light weight, without losing

resistance. Metal bands and the adjustable gullet plate grant stability

and additional resistance. The anatomical design of the tree allows an

unbelievable contact between horse and rider.

All Pessoa Carbon fibre trees come with

20 year guarantee.

THE FOUNDATION

In order to compare the benefits of the AMS® panels, a series of

thermographic images were taken of a horse´s back, utilising standard

panels and another with AMS® after 30 minutes of identical exercises*.

Diagram 1A clearly shows an uneven pressure on the surface

of a traditional panel via the white colour hot spots, which shows a

greater temperature. The corresponding surface temperature shown in

Diagram 1B of the horse´s back when utilising traditional panel, shows

an uneven and substantial increase in tempurature. Stabilisation of the

tempurature took up to three hours post-exercise.

While utlising the AMS® panels Diagram 2A the weight distribution

can be seen to be even and without pressure points. Similarly the

same is seen on the horse´s back in Diagram 2B.

In this case the stabalisation of the tempurature only took an hour.

The distribution of the weight of the AMS® System is more physiological,

allowing for an even distribution of pressures on the horse´s back.

Unscrew the four screws which are placed on both sides of the saddle, underneath the skirt.

Remove the two panel pieces.

Undo the leather cover to be able to reach the exchangeable steel gullet plates.

Change the steel gullet plates for another one of the required size.

Fit the end of the tree points inside the inner pocket.

Tighten the four fixable screws back into place.

The entire Pessoa, PDS and Trainer’s saddle ranges are presented with

the adjustable gullet plate X-Change® system. The rider can modify the

width of the tree in 6 easy steps using any of the adjustable gullet plates

with only a screwdriver. It is really that simple!

This system does not change the integrity or look of the saddle.

The strength and the feel are the same. The tree can perfectly adapt

itself to the withers and back of any horse. The tree size can be

changed from Narrow up to Extra Extra Wide.

Prestige RomaThis dressage saddle has large blocks and

anatomically shaped knee pads which suit

both riders starting dressage or accomplished

performers.

The soft deep seat enables the legs to fit snugly

on the horse, giving increased contact when the

pelvis is tilted back.

The flat thin panels are a new design concept
