Safe in the shadow of the Lord
V1
Safe in the shadow of the Lord,
beneath His hand and power. I
trust in Him, I trust in Him, my
fortress and my tower.
V2
My hope is set on God alone,
though Satan spreads his snare, I
trust in Him, I trust in Him, to keep
me in His care.
V3
His holy angels keep my feet
secure from every stone, I trust in
him, I trust in him, and unafraid go
on.
V4
Safe in the shadow of the Lord,
possessed by love divine, I trust in
Him, I trust in Him, and meet His
love with mine.
There is a name I love to hear
V1
There is a name I love to hear, I
love to speak its worth, it sounds
like music in my ear, the sweetest
name on earth
Chorus
O how I love the Saviour’s name,
O, how I love the Saviour’s name,
O, how I love the saviour’s name,
the sweetest name on earth
V2
It tells me of a Saviour’s love, who
died to set me free, it tells me of
His precious blood, the sinner’s
perfect plea.
Chorus
O, how I love the saviour’s name,
O, how I love the Saviour’s name,
O, how I love the Saviour’s name, the sweetest name on earth.
V3
Jesus, the name I love so well, the
name I love to hear, No saint on
earth its worth can tell, no heart
conceive how dear.
Chorus
O, how I love the Saviour’s name,
O, how I love the Saviour’s name,
O, how I love the Saviour’s name,
the sweetest name on earth.

Matthew 5:17-20.
The Law of Moses17 Don’t suppose that I came to do away with the Law and the Prophets. I did not come to do away with them, but to give them their full meaning. 18 Heaven and earth may disappear. But I promise you that not even a period or comma will ever disappear from the Law. Everything written in it must happen. 19 If you reject even the least important command in the Law and teach others to do the same, you will be the least important person in the kingdom of heaven. But if you obey and teach others its commands, you will have an important place in the kingdom. 20 You must obey God’s commands better than the Pharisees and the teachers of the Law obey them. If you don’t, I promise you that you will never get into the kingdom of heaven..
34
Matthew 22:34-40.
The Most Important Commandment34 After Jesus had made the Sadducees look foolish, the Pharisees heard about it and got together. 35 One of them was an expert in the Jewish Law. So he tried to test Jesus by asking, 36 “Teacher, what is the most important commandment in the Law?”37 Jesus answered:Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. 38 This is the first and most important commandment. 39 The second most important commandment is like this one. And it is, “Love others as much as you love yourself.” 40 All the Law of Moses and the Books of the Prophets are based on these two commandments..
Can we keep all 10 commandments?
Do we worship God properly?
What idols do we have?
Do we always respect our Mum and Dad?
Do we tell lies?
Do we get jealous of other people’s stuff?
When we break the 10 Commandments
It’s called SIN
The punishment for sin is DEATH
SO… We need someone to fix Sin and Death
God the Father sent His Son Jesus to do that!
He died on a cross for our sins!
And He offers us forgiveness & eternal life instead!
When Jesus came – He didn’t come to do away with the 10 commandments
No He came to give them full meaning!
Here’s how he gave them full meaning!
Jesus summarised the commandments
Love God! Love Others! Love! Love! Love!
So if we can’t keep all the commandments all the time, what’s the point of them?
1. To teach us right and wrong
2. So we can live lives that please God!
3. To point us to Jesus who gives us forgiveness and eternal life
4. To teach us to love God and love others!
It is no longer I that liv-eth
V1
It is no longer I that liv-eth, but
Christ that liv-eth in me. It is no
longer I that liv-eth but Christ that
liv-eth in me. He lives, He lives,
Jesus is alive in me. It is no longer
I that liv-eth, but Christ that liv-eth
in me.
V2
The life that I live in the body, I live by faith in the son. The life that I live in the body, I live by faith in the son. He loves, He loves, Jesus gave Himself for me. The life that I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son.
