Affordable registration and feesThere is a one-time registration fee of $10 per school year per child.

In addition, you’ll need to purchase morning- or afternoon-specific passes. You may buy up to 10 morning and 10 afternoon passes at a time. Passes must be prepaid, so each child must have a prepaid pass on their account to attend Safekey. Passes need to be purchased at least three days before the child attends Safekey.

No refunds, credits or transfers of passes will be given under any circumstance. All passes expire at the end of the current school year, so please make sure you purchase passes accordingly.

Daily fees vary by location, so please ask when you register. Depending on location, fees are:

•Morning passes: $5 or $6 per day

•Afternoon passes: $8 or $10 per day

Passes may be used for any day that Safekey is in session.

Ask about financial assistanceIf you need help paying for Safekey, we may be able to offer financial assistance. To qualify, you must live within the City of Las Vegas. Assistance is on a first-come, first-served basis. Call our office at 229-3218 or check at your Safekey school site to learn more.

We also accept Employer Reimbursement vouchers and Nevada Child Care & Develop-ment Fund Subsidy Program vouchers.

Count on Safekey before and after schoolWorried about the finding the right before or after school care for your child? One that meets your busy work schedule in the morning and evenings, and one that fits your budget? And especially where you feel secure that your child is safe, learning and having fun too?

You can count on Safekey to meet all of these needs. We create a place for fun, learning and socializing in a safe, structured program at most City of Las Vegas elementary schools. Safekey is for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade; we offer before- and after-school care. Our goal is to keep children active, engaged and having fun while they’re with us.

Meet our staffWe carefully select the staff who work with your child. All of our employees have passed extensive background checks, drug tests and are fingerprinted. Twice a year our staff attends a mandatory in-service where they are trained in emergency and safety procedures.

Hours of operationMORNING Most Safekey locations open at 7 am; however, some locations open at 6:30 am. Ask about hours at your child’s location when you register.

AFTERNOON Safekey afternoon sessions begin at the end of the school day. Closing time for all locations is 6 pm.

High quality programs like Safekey have been shown to improve kids’ school attendance, behavior, and their overall

success in school. Our healthy lifestyle focus helps your kids stay active and learn to eat right. For parents, you’ll have peace of mind and a more productive day at work knowing that your child is safe … and having fun too.

Before school, kids participate in board games, arts and crafts, nutrition education and physical activities as they prepare for their school day.

A typical after-school day begins with a healthy snack, then continues with homework time, followed by arts and crafts projects, games,

physical activities and reading. We also bring in guests who present special programs. It’s structured, but also flexible enough to keep kids from getting bored with the routine. And our staff has time to work one-on-one when someone needs extra help with homework or with a craft project. At select eligible sites, we provide full after-school meals through our partnership with Three Square Kids Café.

Through our partnership with the Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH) Kids Club, every day we focus on healthy lifestyle behaviors with physical activities, teaching kids about healthy eating, personal safety and other positive choices.
