Community Safety & Support
Feeling safe and supported in your neighborhood is an important
concept that we want to make sure is practiced, because of this we
have proposed the a community accountability action. We believe
that with this action communities will take action and address
problems that may arise without relying on state intervention. By
taking part in this action individuals in the community feel safe and
supported by their neighbors, friends, and families. There are many
dangers that lurk in our world and with the help of the community we
can protect our homes and our loved ones.
Part of our Community Accountability Action plan is to ensure that
certain values and practices are established and respected. We
encourage individuals to search on sites such as “Neighborhood
Scout” to investigate neighborhoods and visiting areas.

We can also present demands and requests to perspective cities for
the implementation and practices of features such as around the
clock working cameras at parks.
We also want to implement a social media group for the community.
o Will be able to post on group and notify community/
neighborhood of suspicious activity. (Suspicious red car

Safe Neighborhoods
Crime Rates
Unfortunately crime exists even in the most unpredictable places. With our community accountability action plan we
encourage individuals to research areas that they are interested in visiting and also areas that you would like to move to.
Crimereports.com is an amazing resource that several police officers recomened. This resource allows you to compare
specific areas over periods of time and select specific types of crime.

Megan's Law are a series of laws in the United States of America that require that law enforcement make information available to the public regarding registered sex offenders. This law came to be after the murder of Megan Kanka. Megan Kanka was raped and murdered by her neighbor Jesse Timmendequas at age 7. The murder attracted national attention and subsequently led to the introduction of "Megan's Law", which requires law enforcement to disclose details relating to the location of registered sex offenders
Websites such as http://www.familywatchdog.usare dedicated to protect and inform the community about the dangers some neighbors might pocess.

Discrimination
Discrimination is also an issue that we
want to address in this community
accountability action plan. We want to
make sure that the entire community feels
comfortable in a their neighborhood and
that they feel comfortable being able to
share their beliefs, ideas and practices.
An accepting community is key for the
safety and support of the community.
● In response to tension between police and citizen, officers and vehicles are required to be equipped with
cameras
● Traffic cameras at main intersections
● If communities learn to rely on each other, then dealing with police becomes less frequent.
● Minority communities can feel safer to speak about their problems rather than going to police or any other law
enforcement.
Police Brutality
● Create a space for Safety and Support
● Practice common Values
● Address dangerous behavior
● Change political conditions
● Create more community events

Community Accountability Plan
With our community accountability action we are striving to develop ways to create stronger relationships with communities
and create community accountability. We are trying to make our community a safer environment for all by implementing a few
simple and effective ways to bring safety and support to everyone's doorstep.
Conclusion
We wanted to take a moment and relate the importance of
community involvement and accountability to the events that are
currently happening in our country. April 29th-May 4th account for
the anniversary of the LA riots. This event caused a city-wide
movement in reaction to the police brutality that occurred in 1992,
its hard to believe how history really does repeat itself. We can
currently see similar events happening in Baltimore where
discrimination, police brutality, and crime are currently thriving.
This is why we need to unite as a community and take a stance
against injustice before they go too far…
