CONTRACTING CAPABILITIESProject Manager:

A Project Manager is appointed who has full responsibility for all activities from the time of order award through to installation, commissioning at site and to the end of the guarantee period.

Subcontractors:

Our choice and appointment of subcontractors is subject to the client’s agreement. AKB Mill Store ensures that the appointed Subcontractor meets the requirements of the contract in terms of program of work, Inspection & Test Plan and Purchase Order requirements.

Planning:

Where appropriate and practical, project personnel shall interface with the Estimating personnel to establish awareness of the scope of work. Project personnel shall ensure to report back to the concerned departments about problems with existing procedures on current projects and in previous projects. This will provide an important feedback loop for project planning and additionally help to ensure that all parties concerned are committed to the scope of work awarded. AKB Mill Store uses MS Project, MS Office and CAD Viewer software’s to carry out its Planning processes and procedures.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control:

A logical progression of the processes involved during contract execution is presented in a Quality Plan. AKB Mill Store develops project-specific Quality Plans based on the contract specifications and requirements, which enable the team to monitor engineering, procurement and manufacturing activities.

SERVICE & MAINTENANCEDedicated teams of Service Engineers support AKB Mill Store customer-base to offer electrical, mechanical, preventative and reactive maintenance related to fire fighting safety and security throughout all market sectors.

Service Teams provide routine planned maintenance and urgent repairs. We also specialize in providing teams of Engineers who are able to carry out modifications or extensions to existing fire fighting systems at short notice. Formal maintenance contracts are tailored to meet individual needs that may range from an annual service visit to permanently-manned sites. Service agreements cover all types of fixed Fire Protection, rescue safety security and Detection Systems including Hand Extinguishers and Hose Reels.

AKB Mill Store we believe we can offer a service for multiple brands of systems from a single source, whereas the End-User would usually engage multiple vendors to complete the necessary service and support on a typical site.

Safety and Environment StandardsInstructions on Safety, Environmental Protection and Fire Control for Staff

A. Fire and explosion protection/Work on open flames

For safety reasons, smoking on the company premises (both in the buildings and outdoors) isrestricted or prohibited. The regulations applicable at the respective site must be observed.

Prior to welding and burning activities as well as activities producing sparks or involving the use of an open flame, as well as work in potential explosive areas, the coordinator must be notified and written permission must be obtained from the relevant department ("Notification on work involving the use of an open flame"). If necessary, specific fire alert lines must be enabled or a fireguard must be made available before the activities are started.

In addition, it is absolutely vital that the following points be observed:

Staircases, traffic paths and exits must not be obstructed. Special doors intended to prevent the spread of fire and smoke (fire or smoke control doors)

must not be put out of function by the use of wedges or other devices to keep them open. Flammable liquids must be kept at the worksite only in the daily quantity required

Extensive accumulation of dust must be removed on a daily basis Flammable liquids must not be discharged into the sewage system via wash basins, toilets or other

drains Flammable waste must be removed from the worksite on a daily basis.

Scope of WorkSCOPE OF WORK IN MAINTENANCE OF FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT

Our service teams must ensure that:

• They have full details of the customer being visited, the location and service documents.

• They have all the necessary tools, spares and refills needed to enable them provide the service required.

• Proper code of dressing i.e. protective gear (PPE) if necessary and identification as provided by the company

• On reaching the customer’s premises, proper introduction and identification must be done.

• Our service teams also have the responsibility to create good working relations with the clients. Any major challenges arising should be communicated to supervisors and managers.

Work under this contract consist of furnishing labor , materials , equipment and appliances necessary and required to completely do all works relating to the fire protection system as describe here–in–after and shown and the drawings , consisting of :

i) Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of

a) Fire hydrant Down comer system including fire Terrace pumps and ancillary equipments .

b) Hand appliances.

ii) Preparation of plans based on the shop dwgs./actual work at site and getting approval/NOC by the Local Fire Authority.

iii) Getting tested by and approval of the installation by the Local Fire Authority during the fabrication/construction stage as well as after completion.

iv) Supply of necessary spare parts during the commissioning stage.

v) Supply of any other item or services not specifically mentioned anywhere but required by the Local Fire Authority or essential for the operation.
