Safran Power Learjet 60 Starter GeneratorSafran Power Systems has developed a more reliable replacement starter generator specifically designed for the Learjet 60 aircraft. It is a direct STC/PMA replacement that is simple to install and requires no aircraft modification.
The Safran Learjet 60 starter generator is a plug & play unit. Because it utilizes the existing electrical system, the
Generator Control Units (P/N 6608513-2, -3) and Current Transformers (P/N CTSG700) do not need to be replaced.
Also, included is a new replacement Inlet Duct Hose (P/N SLOOT-12-17) and Quick Attach Adapter (QAD) kit that
interfaces directly with the existing nacelle, eliminating the need for engine cowling modifications.
The design of the Safran starter generator extends the life and reliability of the bearings. The drive end and anti-drive
end bearing shields are fitted to reduce contamination and improve service. Improved Non-Drive End (NDE) bearing
retainer increases sti�ness of support which maximizes NDE bearing life. Compared with the currently installed starter
generator, it shows improved cooling performance across all speed ranges.
The Safran starter generator is fitted with proprietary unique Safran brushes, requiring a brush validation inspection
at 500 hours. Safran warrants the brushes for 1000 hours of operational life. If, at the 500 hour brush inspection, the
brushes are worn over 50%, Safran will provide replacement brushes at no charge to the customer. This reduces your
maintenance requirements, downtime and operating costs. These longer lasting Safran brushes reduce the amount
of carbon dust on the aircraft and engine cowling. Safran is confident in the performance of their brushes and if there
isn’t more than half-life left at the 500 hour inspection they will provide free replacement brushes. Additionally, the
overhaul of the Safran starter generator is less expensive than the overhaul of the APC starter generator.
Your Safran starter generator has full OEM warranty and support with 12-month
full replacement warranty and 1000 hour warranted brush life.

The Safran starter generator, P/N 23091-009, is a direct PMA/STC replacement for APC and Learjet starter generators.
No airframe or engine modification is required. The Safran starter generator is available as a factory new exchange,
only requiring an APC core return.
The Safran starter generator replaces these APC and Learjet starter generators:
APC 400SG138Q-1, -1-XL, -Q-2, -Q-2-1, -Q-X-L
Learjet 6608512-001-002, -005, -006, -2, -6
Learjet 6058003-1
Safran Power Systems has an excellent track record regarding reliability and maintenance resulting in reduced
maintenance, aircraft downtime and operating costs.
Example:
Three Learjet 60 aircraft fitted with the Safran starter generator, P/N 23091- 003, have accumulated approximately
50,000 flight hours on six Safran units over several years. Throughout these 50,000 flight hours, only three
required parts other than the normal brushes and bearings at all of the 1000 hour overhauls. A credit to Safran’s
passion for continuous improvement is evident in the additional product improvement of the 23091-003 design
that has led to the even more dependable current production P/N 23091-009 starter generator.
