CHARTERING DESK

Second quarter started off very well with securing a long term contract from Pemex for Stanford Goshawk paving the way for Stanford Marine into Gulf of Mexico. Stanford Osprey and Stanford Mermaid were also awarded long term contracts in Q2 2013.

Maersk Oil Qatar awarded a three year contract to Stanford Osprey as a Field Shuttle Vessel supporting their operations in Al Shaheen Field at Offshore Qatar. She’s upgraded to DP2 successfully by our technical team as part of the contract requirement. Stanford Mermaid’s (AHT) contract is for two years from Esnaad/Zadco as a Safety/Standby Vessel to support their operations in Offshore Abu Dhabi.

Stanford Hunter, 57M work/maintenance vessel with 50 men accommodation is the latest addition to the Stanford fleet. She was built at Grandweld Shipyards, upon delivery in May she entered into a 5 months contract in Abu Dhabi supporting a painting campaign in Zadco fields.

STANFORD HUNTER, STANFORD NILE, STANFORD ALPHA AND MANY MORE VESSELS ALL ON CHARTER WITH DIFFERENT CLIENTS.

Fast Crew Boats are still in great demand and are maintaining their high utilization levels. Firecrest secured 4 months charter from Aramco and Stanford Nile secured 90 days charter from Technip supporting operations in Saudi Arabia.

Stanford Alpha entered into a 90 days charter supporting towing operations between Singapore and Malaysia after completing a short term charter with Petronas.

Many of the existing contracts were extended during this period for medium to long term. The contract of Stanford Mariner 2 with Mubalda, Thailand, MMPL Merlin with RasGas , Stanford Bream (Ex. Waha 1)and Waha Mermaid contract with NPCC which were all extended for another year each. Buzzard’s contract with BG is extended till Dec. 2013 with further options to extend. McDermott extended the contract for Kite, Swift, Condor and Gold for 3 – 4 months.

The outlook for Q3 looks positive with more challenging opportunities ahead to keep the fleet busy.

HEALTH, SAFETY and ENVIRONMENTA QUICK REVIEW ON HSEQ’S PROGRESS AND HAPPENINGS THIS QUARTER.

The Second Quarter of the year has continued with Zero LTI’s.

In this quarter we have stressed the importance of hand safety. Will also be introducing and implementing an enhanced lifting procedure across the fleet aimed and improving equipment and personnel safety.

Also in this quarter we enrolled all those on our management team who did not already have formal HSE qualifications on the IOSH Managing Safely course. This course is being provided through the British Safety Council and will help to improve the level of HSE understanding for those taking the course. This will in turn lead to improved safety management across the company.

In addition we have also provided the IOSH Working Safely course to our workshop team. This team is fundamental in keeping our vessels operational and they work constantly to ensure this. Keeping our vessels operational is crucial to our business, doing this safely is vital to our company.

Our workshop staff are a key link between our on and off shore teams. It is vital that they all work safely together and through the provision of this course we expect an improved safety consciousness throughout our technical support departments.

Following our enrollment on the above courses Stanford Marine were invited to become an international member the British Safety Council. As a member we now have access to their online health, safety and environmental information resource, we also receive regular updates about changes and developments within the industry and any new legislation.

This Quarter has been a busy time with the preparation of several vessels for safe operations on new, long term contracts. We hope to continue the year as safely as we have started!

Internship Training Program

Continuing with our internship training program that started with a student at SMG’s office in 2012, we currently have an intern, Muhammad Fahmi Bin Mohamed Ali, working at our office in Singapore.

SM’s Singapore team had already prepared a full programme for Fahmi before he joins, each week had a certain aspect and topic to focus on, moreover each week focuses on a certain department of the company. Below is an example:

The program does not only cover internal office training and work but also external visits and trips, one of Fahmi’s trips was the Kemaman trip which was a visit to our Stanford Alpha and Stanford Bateleur vessels. Fahmi wrote in his report:

“First and foremost I would like to thank Stanford Marine Asia for granting me a brilliant opportunity to experience, witness and also participate in a vessel visit to Stanford Alpha and Stanford Bateleur.

Throughout this whole trip I can safely say that the process of learning encompasses continuously

from the moment I stepped into the airport right until the end, and is not only confined and restricted to my time onboard the vessel. Thus entailed in this report are elaborated observations that I have noticed and included as part of my learning experience for the duration of this trip.”
