Christian Initiation of Adults (Catechumenate) For those inquiring about Initiation and Communion with the Catholic Church, please contact the Parish Office, 714-893-2766.

Christian Initiation of Infants (Baptisms) Infant baptisms are celebrated monthly following catechesis for pa ren t s and godparen t s o f candidates. Please contact the Parish Office at least one month in advance of enrollment.

Celebration of Christian Marriage Registered parishioners should contact the Parish Office for an appointment with one of the priests at least six months prior to marriage and also attend one Marriage Orientation class.

Anointing of the Sick In the event of a serious illness or a medical emergency, the Parish Office should be contacted immediately so that the sacrament of the sick may be conferred by a priest.

Celebration of Christian Funerals At the death of a loved one, kindly notify the Parish Office at your earliest convenience so that the dates and times for the Funeral Liturgy may be arranged.

Eucharistic Adoration On the 22nd of each month we gather in prayer and praise before the Blessed Sacrament praying for an increase in vocations. If the 22nd of the month falls on Saturday or Sunday, Adoration will be held on the following Monday. Adoration is also every Saturday, 3:30pm to 5:00pm.

As we give thanks on this special day, one way to express our “attitude of gratitude” to the Lord is by sharing our blessings with those in our community who are less fortunate. If you are in a position to share, here are some suggestions to bring to our 9:00am Mass of Thanksgiving:

Non-perishable food Items most needed: • Canned Protein: Chicken, Tuna, Chili, Beef Stew, Beans • Canned Fruits & Vegetables: Tomatoes, Apricots, Peaches, Peas, etc. • Enriched Pasta: Spaghetti, Macaroni & Cheese, etc. • Peanut Butter • Oatmeal & Cereal • Dried Fruits & Nuts

What to avoid: • Products in glass containers such as spaghetti sauce. Glass Containers tend to break and make a mess!

Adult Confirmation Classes The sacrament of Confirmation perfects Baptism and completes the Sacraments of Initiation. Confirmation is the Sacrament of spiritual maturity, giving us the grace we need to participate in the public ministry the Church.

THANKS to all who went to Pechanga last week! With your help we raised over $600 to support our ministry! Your support keeps our ministry alive!

Casino trips are Family Support Center's only fundraisers. These funds, and donations from the community, are our only source of income. FSC distributes food to those in need every Monday and Wednesday. We also help with financial aid, on a limited basis, for those who need emergency assistance. We need your help to continue in this ministry: Last year we distributed food to over 16,000 individuals! Please, if you are able, consider joining us on a trip. You will have a good time and, at the same time, be performing a Corporal work of Mercy. We appreciate your consideration!

STAIN GLASS WINDOWS FOR ST. POLYCARP

We now have a lighted stain glass window sample to the side of our main altar for everyone to see. There are Stain glass windows set aside for our parishioners and are now available for purchase by individuals, families, or ministry groups. VIETNAMESE COMMUNITY UPDATE

Sunday, 11/26/2017, the Community will have two school buses come to pick up our community elders at 8 am at the front of our parish hall. The departure process should take less than 30 minutes. They will be taken to the annual celebration of 117 Vietnamese Martyrs Thanksgiving Mass at the Bren Center, UC Irvine where all 16 Vietnamese community of the Diocese of Orange will gather and they are scheduled to return to the church by 2:30 pm. After months of planning, this coming Saturday, 12/2/2017, as early as 8 am, a young group of volunteers from various groups of our community will be hauling the Christmas Nativity set from the parish hall to the front of the church and begin to build the Nativity Scene for our church. This is a full two days’ project, from 8am-4pm. So spread the word and come to see the newest design this year of our church Christmas Nativity Scene as we have to let go of the old design that has been with us over ten years. These are all volunteers and Father Michael is reimbursing the expense of materials. The kids are in full practice mode for the Christmas play (every Sunday night after the 4 pm Mass, in the parish hall) to get ready for their performance at the Christmas Vigil Vietnamese Mass on the 24th of December. We have also invited Santa Claus to pass out candies on the 25th of December at the Vietnamese Mass as well. There are more activities in progress which we will be sharing with you for your information. Keep us in your prayers and thoughts as we continue to serve God our Father

BAUTISMOS PASOS :

Papás y padrinos, deberan asistír el primer Domingo del mes a las 10:00 am para registrar a su hijo(a) y al mísmo tiempo para tomar la clase requerida. Padres: Traer una copia del certificado de nacimiento de su hijo(a). No traiga el original. Padrinos: Traer una copia del acta de matrimonio de la Iglesia donde se casaron. El Segundo Domingo de Cada mes es la Ceremonia del Bautísmo a las 2:00 pm. Habra una segunda platica el Viernes despues del Bautizo a las 7:00pm. Costo $50 por niño; $25 si solamente toma la plática

SỨ MẠNG CỦA GIÁO XỨ.

Giáo xứ Thánh Polycarp may mắn có nhiều nền văn hóa và sự sống động của các chương trình mục vụ khác nhau của các cộng đồng giáo dân, điều này đem đến một làn gió thánh thiện chào đón mọi người, đặc biệt là giới trẻ, là những người mong muốn có một đời sống đạo sâu xa hơn với Chúa Giêsu Kitô. Như là những môn đệ của Chúa, chúng ta giúp cho những người nghèo đói, đây là cuộc hành trình đức tin dành cho các anh chị em chúng ta trên con đường sống đạo mới với niềm hy vọng và lòng can đảm, trong một công việc bác ái an toàn và vui vẻ.

Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa lưu ý đến đúng giờ và đem theo vé để lên xe

8- Đoàn Thiếu Nhi Thánh Thể không sinh hoạt ngày 26 tháng 11.- Đoàn TNTT của Cộng đoàn xin thông báo: Chúa Nhật ngày 26 tháng 11 năm 2017 là ngày lễ mừng kinh Các Thánh Tử Đạo Việt Nam do Công đồng Công Giáo Việt Nam Giáo Phân Orange tổ chức tại Đại học UCI và Thiếu Nhi Thánh Thể cũng có tham dự. Do đó Chúa Nhật ngày 26 tháng 11 năm 2017, đoàn TNTT của Cộng đoàn sẽ không sinh hoạt tại Cộng đoàn. 9- Buổi họp hai ngành của Legio Mariae.- Hội Legio-Mariae của Cộng đoàn sẽ có một buổi sinh hoạt cho cả hai ngành Hoạt động và Tán trợ vào lúc 5giờ chiều Thứ Bảy ngày 25 tháng 11 năm 2017 tại phòng họp thường lệ. Kính mời quý hội viên cả hai ngành cùng tham dự. 10- Huynh đoàn Đaminh không có buổi sinh hoạt tháng 11/2017.- Huynh đoàn Đan Minh Vinh Sơn Liêm xin thông báo: Chúa Nhật ngày 26 tháng 11 năm 2017 là Chúa Nhật Thứ Tư trong tháng 11 và cũng là ngày Cộng Đông Công Giáo Việt Nam Giáo phận Orange tổ chức lễ mừng kính Các Thánh Tử Đạo Việt Nam tại Đại học UCI. Do đó Huynh Đoàn Đaminh Vinh Sơn Liêm của Cộng đoàn sẽ không có buổi sinh hoạt hằng tháng như thường lệ. 11- Rửa Tội bằng tiếng Việt cho các em nhỏ.- Giáo xứ sẽ Rửa Tội bằng tiếng Việt cho các em nhỏ trong Giáo xứ vào lúc 2giờ30 trưa Chúa Nhật ngày 26 tháng 11 năm 2017. Lớp hướng dẫn cho Cha Mẹ và người Đỡ Đầu từ 7 đến 9giờ tối Thứ Ba ngày 21 tháng 11 năm 2017 tại phòng sinh hoạt trước đài Đức Mẹ. Xin quí cha mẹ và người đỡ đầu có mặt đầy đủ và đúng giờ. 12- Tĩnh Tâm Mùa Vọng.- Cộng đoàn sẽ tổ chức 2 tối tĩnh tâm Mùa Vọng vào lúc 7giờ tối các ngày Thứ Ba ngày 5 và Thứ Tư ngày 6 tháng 12 năm 2017 tại Thánh đường, do Clinh Mục Hoài Chương hướng dẫn với chủ đề “Hãy dọn sẵn con đường của Đức Chúa sửa lối cho thẳng để Người đi”. Mỗi buổi tĩnh tâm đều kết thúc bằng Thánh lễ. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sắp xếp thời gian than dự. 13- Hộp thư xin lễ cầu cho các linh hồn.- Nhân tháng Mười Một, tháng cầu cho các Linh Hồn, Cộng đoàn có đặt một thùng để nhận những thư xin lễ gởi về các Cha già hưu dưỡng tại Việt Nam để các Cha dâng lễ cầu nguyện cho các thân nhân của chúng ta đã qua đời. Đây cũng là một hình thức giúp đỡ các Cha có thêm phương tiện sống những ngày cuối đời. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa nhiệt liệt tham gia để giúp các ngài. Xin lưu ý, các ý lễ này sẽ không rao. 14- Thực hiện dự án Trung Tâm Sinh Hoạt của Giáo xứ.- Giáo xứ đã gởi về mỗi gia đình trong Giáo xứ một bao thư để tham khảo về dự án xây dựng Trung Tâm Sinh Hoạt của Giáo xứ bằng tiếng Anh. Ngoài ra Giáo xứ cũng có để sẵn bản tham khảo ý kiến của Giáo dân cho dự án này tại cuối Thánh đường

THÔNG BÁO CỘNG ĐOÀN.

1- Giờ chầu Thánh Thể thinh lặng.- Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa lưu ý: Giáo xứ có giờ chầu Thánh Thể thinh lặng từ 3giờ30 đến 5giờ vào mỗi chiều Thứ Bảy hằng tuần. Xin kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cùng đến tham dự giờ chầu Thánh Thể nêu trên. 2- Giờ lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót của Giáo xứ.- Sau Thánh lễ 8giờ30 sáng từ Thứ Hai đến Thứ Bảy trong tuần, Giáo xứ có lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót bằng tiếng Anh, và vào lúc 3giờ chiều mỗi ngày, Cộng đoàn có lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót bằng tiếng Việt tại Thánh đường (hoặc tại Đài Đức Mẹ). Riêng chiều Thứ Sáu có thêm khấn Lòng Chúa Thương Xót. Kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cùng tham dự. 3- Buổi sinh hoạt của Hội Đồng Mục Vụ.- Kính mời quí thành viên thuộc Hội Đồng Mục Vụ tham dự buổi sinh hoạt định kỳ vào lúc 1giờ trưa Chúa Nhật ngày 19 tháng 11 năm 2017 tại phòng họp trước Đài Đức Mẹ. Vì có nhiều chương trình sinh hoạt trong thời gian sắp tới cần bàn thảo và quyết định. Xin các Thành viên cố gắng tham dự đầy đủ và đúng giờ. 4- Ngày Giáo Xứ chầu Thánh Thể.- Giáo xứ chầu Thánh Thể vào Thứ Tư ngày 22 tháng 11 năm 2017. Cộng đoàn sẽ có 2 giờ chầu: lúc 3giờ chiều do Hội Cầu Nguyện phụ trách và 8giờ tối do Ban Giáo Lý và Ban Việt Ngữ của Cộng đoàn phụ trách. Kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sốt sắng tham dự. 5- Thánh lễ Tạ Ơn của Giáo xứ.- Nhân ngày Lễ Tạ Ơn của Hoa Kỳ (Thanksgiving Day), Giáo xứ có cử hành Thánh Lễ Tạ Ơn (Thanksgiving Mass) vào lúc 9giờ sáng Thứ Năm ngày 23 tháng 11 năm 2017 cho các sắc dân trong Giáo xứ. Sau Thánh lễ, Giáo xứ có tặng bánh mỳ cho giáo dân. Kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sắp xếp thời gian tham dự. Xin Cộng đoàn lưu ý: Ngày Thứ Năm 23 tháng 11, Giáo xứ chỉ có một Thánh lễ lúc 9giờ sáng, sau đó Thánh đường sẽ đóng cửa. Ngày Thứ Sáu 24 tháng 11, Giáo xứ vẫn có Thánh lễ lúc 6giờ30 và 8giờ30 sáng và Thánh lễ tiếng Việt lúc 6giờ30 chiều (Lễ kính Các Thánh TĐ-VN), nhưng Thánh đường sẽ đóng cửa sau giờ lễ. Riêng Văn Phòng Giáo xứ sẽ đóng cửa suốt cả hai ngày Thứ Năm 23 và Thứ Sáu 24 tháng 11 năm 2017. 6- Cộng đoàn Việt Nam cử hành Lễ kính Các Thánh TĐ-VN.- Vào lúc 6giờ30 chiều Thứ Sáu ngày 24 tháng 11 năm 2017, Công đoàn có cử hành Thánh Lễ mừng kính Các Thánh Tử Đạo Việt Nam. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sắp xếp thời gian tham dự. 7- Xe bus tham dự Đại Lễ Các Thánh Tử Đạo Việt Nam.- Ban Thường Vụ xin tông báo: số vé cho 2 xe bus do Cộng đoàn mướn đưa giáo dân đi tham dự lễ Các Thánh TĐ-VN tại Đại học UCI vào ngày Chúa Nhật 26 tháng 11 năm 2017 đã bán hết vé. Những ai đã mua vé, xin đem theo vé và có mặt tại sân trường học Giáo xứ trước 8giờ15 sáng Chúa Nhật ngày 26 tháng 11 năm 2017 để sắp xếp lên xe. Ai không có vé sẽ không thể lên xe.
