Cheverus Award Since 2008 the Archdiocese of Boston has con-ferred the Cheverus Award upon lay parishion-ers. It recognizes those women and men who have served their parishes devotedly and mag-nanimously over an extended period of time and have done so in a quiet, unassuming, and perhaps unrecognized fashion. This year the Archdio-cese will confer this award on Rita DiGesse of our parish.

Is there any aspect of our parish life that Rita has not participated in and made better? She was there at Saint Anthony's School volunteering for so many tasks. She has served on the parish pas-toral council and is an Eucharistic Minister. She has been involved in the annual Saint Anthony's parish show. She has represented our needs in serving on Allston-Brighton committees and our library. She has coordinated relations with Har-vard University. She is one of the Morning Glo-ries who meet for daily Mass and pray for our parish. And so much more. Our parish has been so fortunate to have Rita as our sister in faith. Congratulations and thanks go out to her.

Rita joins Bill Corrigan in being a recipient of the Cheverus Award

Planning for next year? Saint Columbkille Partnership School, grades PreK - 8, is offering an opportunity for prospective parents to see first-hand what happens in our classrooms. Come on Tuesday, November 29 between 8:30 am and 10:00 am for a visit.

Parish Giving Tree

As is customary during Advent, you will find ornaments on our Giving Tree.

We are asking for gifts of unwrapped toys, books, puzzles, or games for infants, babies,

children, and teenagers.

We invite any parishioners who wishes to take an ornament and purchase the gift found on the back

or make a gift donation of your choice.

Please bring the unwrapped gifts back to the tree by the third weekend of Advent,

December 10 and 11.

Please leave all gifts unwrapped.

As always, we thank your for your continuing kindness and support of St. Vincent de Paul and your

generosity to our brothers and sisters in need.

TIME OF PREPARATION This life is the time of our preparation for our future state. Our souls will continue for ever what we make them in this world. —John Tillotson, Archbishop of Canterbury
