links.steas.net/MassVolunteers WE RESUME Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Masses on Sunday, June 7, The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, at 8 am and 11 am. Beginning the following weekend (June 13-14), we will offer Masses on Saturdays at 4 pm, as well as on Sundays at 8 am and 11 am. To keep each other safe and, importantly—to protect our priests and others who must be cleared to minister to the most vulnerable at home, in nursing homes, and in hospitals—we are instituting a recommended array of checks and protections. We need lots of volunteers to assist with our reopening, and continuing until that hope-for time when such careful measures may be reduced or removed. Until then, please visit our sign-up page at links.steas. net/MassVolunteers to see if there is a spot where you would be comfortable serving. A commitment to safe practices is essential to these volunteer roles. Remember: Bishop Gainer has dispensed Catholics from the obligation to attend Mass during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you for helping our parish to reopen joyfully and safely! ONLINE RETREAT This Sunday we post our free on-demand extended retreat of approximately three hours that you can attend from your own home, on your own schedule—however you like! With a welcoming invitation from Monsignor King and music by Vince Ambrosetti, Deacon David L. Hall and Pastoral Assistant Donna Nebistinsky have prepared and recorded segments that will guide us through a spiritual journey like that of the Israelites in the desert after their release from slavery in Egypt: From the Desert to the Promised Land. Watch segments separately or all at once—whenever it fits your schedule. You can find the retreat at www. steas.net/PentcostRetreat on Sunday. Please share on social media. Open to all! A READING FROM THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES Acts 2:1-11When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the skya noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spiritand began to speak in different tongues,as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.

Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven staying in Jerusalem. At this sound, they gathered in a large crowd, but they were confused

because each one heard themspeaking in his own language. They were astounded, and in amazement they asked,“Are not all these people who are speaking Galileans? Then how does each of us hear themin his native language? We are Parthians, Medes, and Elamites, inhabitants of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia,Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia,Egypt and the districts of Libya near Cyrene,as well as travelers from Rome, both Jews and converts to Judaism, Cretans and Arabs, yet we hear them speaking in our own tonguesof the mighty acts of God.”

Liturgy of the Word

O God, who by the mystery of today’s great feastsanctify your whole Church in every people and nation, pour out, we pray, the gifts of the Holy Spiritacross the face of the earthand, with the divine grace that was at work

COLLECTwhen the Gospel was first proclaimed, fill now once more the hearts of believers.Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever

RESPONSORIAL PSALM Psalm 104:1, 24, 29-30, 31, 34

(R.) Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.

Bless the LORD, O my soul!O LORD, my God, you are great indeed!How manifold are your works, O LORD!the earth is full of your creatures;

(R.) Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.

May the glory of the LORD endure forever;may the LORD be glad in his works!

Pleasing to him be my theme;I will be glad in the LORD.

(R.) Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.

If you take away their breath, they perishand return to their dust. When you send forth your spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth.

(R.) Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.

Order of the MassA READING FROM THE FIRST LETTER OF SAINT PAUL TO THE CORINTHIANS 12:3b-7, 12-13

Brothers and sisters:No one can say, “Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy SpiritThere are different kinds of spiritual giftsbut the same Spirit;there are different forms of servicebut the same Lord;there are different workings but the same Godwho produces all of them in everyone.

To each individual the manifestation of the Spiritis given for some benefit. As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body,so also Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons, and we were all given to drink of one Spirit.

Come, Holy Spirit, come! And from your celestial homeShed a ray of light divine!Come, Father of the poor!Come, source of all our store!Come, within our bosoms shine. You, of comforters the best; You, the soul’s most welcome guest;Sweet refreshment here below; In our labor, rest most sweet;Grateful coolness in the heat;Solace in the midst of woe.O most blessed Light divine,Shine within these hearts of yours,And our inmost being fill!

SEQUENCEWhere you are not, we have naught,Nothing good in deed or thought,Nothing free from taint of ill.Heal our wounds, our strength renew; On our dryness pour your dew;Wash the stains of guilt away:Bend the stubborn heart and will;Melt the frozen, warm the chill;Guide the steps that go astray. On the faithful, who adoreAnd confess you, evermoreIn your sevenfold gift descend;Give them virtue’s sure reward;Give them your salvation, Lord;Give them joys that never end. Amen. Alleluia.

A READING FROM THE HOLY GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN John 20:19-23

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews,Jesus came and stood in their midstand said to them, “Peace be with you.”When he had said this,he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you.As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”And when he had said this,he breathed on them and said to them,“Receive the Holy Spirit.Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.”

Order of the MassPROFESSION OF FAITHI believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth,of all things visible and invisible.I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God,born of the Father before all ages.God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,(At the words that follow, up to and includingand became man, all bow)and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,

he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heavenand is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the deadand his kingdom will have no end.I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son,who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sinsand I look forward to the resurrection of the deadand the life of the world to come. Amen.
