National Migration Week 2018
Many Journeys, One Family
Good and gracious God,
We pray for all people who are migrating particularly those who are forced from their homes or separated from their families because of threats of violence and persecution. We ask that you protect and keep them safe.
Although we come from different countries, and have our origins in different cultures, we were all created by you, and are made in your image, and therefore we all share an inalienable dignity that is deserving of respect.
Lord, we ask that you give us the strength to defend those who are marginalized, to give aid to those in need, to come to the defence of those who are poor or vulnerable, and to welcome those who are on the move into our homes and into our hearts.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Amen

Items of Note:
"Without coffee, I would have no identifiable personality whatsoever."
David Letterman
Unfortunately, at the Poverello Center, the coffee has been running out every morning due to the large number of homeless folks hoping to start their day with a hot cup of "joe". The staff has asked that we add ground coffee to the list of donation requests that are collected in the basket at the back of the church. Thank you!
The Blood Mobile will be here on Monday, February 5th from 8:30 - 1. To register, please go to www.redcrossblood.org and use the code stfrancis to find our drive. You may also call Pam in the parish office at 541-6041 for help.
In the busyness of our lives, what could be more important than the health of our marriages?
Our dedicated group of Sponsor Couples who minister to those who come to our parish prepar-ing for marriage are presenting a Marriage Wellness Check-up Retreat on Friday evening, February 9th and all day Saturday, February 10th. We all go to our doctors or dentists for a check up - why not a check up for our marriages?
The retreat is open to the first twenty couples who register by calling Pam in the parish office at 541-6041. Meals will be provided and the cost of the retreat is $60 per couple.
Vamos a celebrar la Misa en español el domingo el 14 de Enero a las 6:00 pm en la parroquia de St. Anthony.
Our next Mass in Spanish will be at 6:00 pm on Sunday, January 14th at St. Anthony Parish.
¡Todos están bienvenidos!

‘Thank You.I would like to personally thank you for serving as altar servers, cantors, Eucharistic
ministers, lectors, pianists, sacristans, ushers and singers in the adult choir and children's choir during the busy seasons of Advent and Christmas. I am grateful to everyone who helped all the services run so smoothly. Also, thank you everyone who joined in the fun of decorating the church on Christmas Eve. It's hard to believe we are able to make our
already gorgeous church even more beautiful and festive, but we did it!Thank you!
Rachael
We will be having an in-depth Eucharistic minister training in the church immediately following the 10am Mass on Sunday, January 14th. If you are interested in performing this very important ministry, or if you would like a "refresher" course, please join us.
Also, with our busy parish, we need a few more trained sacristans for our weekend liturgies. The sacristan prepares the church for Mass, makes sure everything is put away in its proper place after Mass, and locks up the building before leaving. This training will also take place after the 10am Mass on the 14th.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or email Rachael Beck at 541-6040 or [email protected].
