Intentions listed below are remembered for ONE WEEK [Sunday to Sunday]. The burning candles serve as a constant prayer before the Lord, present in the Blessed Sacrament. Envelopes for you to have your intentions remembered and prayed for are available in the lobby of the Adoration Chapel. The candles will burn this week for the following intentions: For my granddaughter’s recovery For our daughter Mary’s successful surgery For my health to get better For our friends and family to be safe For my grandson and granddaughter

Dear Parish Family, Across the world, 2020 will certainly go down in history as a very difficult year, to say the least! Throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, our Holy Father, Pope Francis, and our Bishops have tried to keep us focused, to give us hope, and to strengthen our faith. What a blessing our Catholic faith has been. We are a family, and we are in this together. Pope Francis said: “How many people every day are exercising patience and offering hope, taking care to sow not panic but a shared responsibility. How many fathers, mothers, grandparents, and teachers are showing our children, in small everyday gestures, how to face up to and navigate a crisis by adjusting their routines, lifting their gaze and fostering prayer. How many are praying, offering and interceding for the good of all. Prayer and quiet service: these are our victorious weapons!” While pointing out the seriousness of the Coronavirus, Pope Francis looked on the bright side: "It's a beautiful opportunity to creatively rediscover affection. May the Lord help everyone to discover new ways, new expressions of love, of living together in this new situation. Let's pray for families so that the relationships within the family at this moment might flourish always for the good." Christmas is so great a Feast, like Easter, that one period of 24 hours is not enough time to celebrate. And so, the Church gives us the Octave Days of Christmas to help us focus on the beauty and profound meaning of Christmas. Each day of the Octave week is seen as the same thing as Christmas itself. Today is the Third Day of the Christmas Octave, and it is celebrated as the Feast of the Holy Family. Holy families, and families striving for holiness are all around us. But, there is only one Holy Family ~ Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Perhaps it is clearer to say there is only one family which deserves to be called "the holiest family." As the family has come more and more under attack in the last 40-50 years, our Holy Fathers and Bishops have embraced the opportunity to speak on behalf of the family. In Pope Saint John Paul II’s 1994 Letter to Families, we find these profound words: Mary and Joseph became the first models of that fairest love which the Church continually implores for young people, husbands and wives and families. Young people, spouses and families themselves should never cease to pray for this. How can we not think about the crowds of pilgrims, old and young,
