SAINT JAMES CATHOLIC SCHOOL PARISH LIFE
One of the soldiers thrust a lance into His side, and immediately a flow of blood and water came forth. John 19:34
June 24 – The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Feast Day
Reflection. We worship Jesus’ heart. It is the core of the pro-life movement of self-sacrificing love. Nothing can stop the love of the Heart of Jesus, which is the flame of the flame we see. This love is met by rejection and hatred, symbolized by the wound in the heart. Prayer. Lord when my love for the unborn is met with misunderstanding, ridicule, and persecution, fill my heart with Yours, that I may continue to love those who cannot love me back. Pro-Life Reflections for Everyday

The Lord will come when we least expect him. Is he
knocking now, asking us to serve as a priest or
religious? ( Luke 12:49-53)
Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Second Reading: Romans 6:3-4, 8-11
Gospel: Matthew 10:37-42
"Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will
acknowledge before my heavenly Father. But whoev-
er does not acknowledge me before others I will not
acknowledge before my heavenly Father."
Matthew 10:32-33
Acknowledgment of God is recognition of what God
has done for us. Not recognizing all that we are and
have is His gift, is to not recognize Him. Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time
First Reading: Jeremiah 20:10-13
Second Reading: Romans 5:12-15
Gospel: Matthew 10:26-33
Each of us is called to testify to the spirit of truth
that is Jesus. When we give faithful witness, we
hear in today’s Gospel, Jesus says he will
acknowledge us before the Father. Let us not be
afraid to testify to our belief in Jesus.

tion, and action. The Fortnight includes the 14 days from June
21 – the vigil of the Feasts of St. John Fisher and St. Thomas
More, great martyrs who remained faithful in the fact of reli-
gious persecution – to July 4, Independence Day. The theme for
2017 is “Freedom for Mission,” Fortnight for Freedom 2017:
Freedom for Mission. We encourage you to hold firm, to stand
fast, and to insist upon what belongs to you by right as Catholics
and Americans. Our country deserves the best we have to offer,
including our resistance to violations of our first freedom.

This event is a component of the Family Life and Community Outreach and Academic Enrichment programs which minister to families regardless of race, religion or geographical location. The goal is to assist our youth with a successful start to their school year by providing them with pencils, ink pens, paper, spiral notebooks, folders, markers, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, glue, glue sticks, book bags (back packs) and other school supplies. The event and all of the supplies are free to the public. Children must accompany the parent to obtain supplies. Representatives from local education-al institutions will be on hand to provide information on educational opportunities. On behalf of the families that we serve, we would like to thank you in advance for your donation and for your efforts to contribute to shaping the future of our community.
