Today’s liturgy compels us to consider the prophetic call to mission that also makes us the Church through the Holy Father. In the first reading, the prophet Amos is motivated to travel from the north to Judah to announce that God needs his people to change their ways and to be faithful to the Covenant, in the letter to the Ephesians Saint Paul gives thanks to God because he was chosen to share the message of salvation with so many; he recognizes the inheritance he received in the mission that never ends, that begins in the risen Christ, the one who sent his disciples out in pairs to preach the good news to the world: there is hope in the midst of suffering, love can overcome all, peace can be reached, we are called to a new life. Liturgical coordinators should show the theme through their ministries when picking their musical repertoire, by preparing the Prayer of the faithful and commentaries, and by sharing readings with lectors and inviting members of the assembly to live a plan of missionary action that has the community as disciples of the New Evangelization.

Their pursuit of holy lives teaches us to make a more perfect offering of our-selves to you. Continue to enrich your Church by calling ofrth sons and daughters who, having found the pearl of great price, treasure the Kingdom of Heaven above all things.
