We hope this materialwill assist you and your team in preparing for your visit to Pasco County and the Saint Leo Universitycampus.

About Saint Leo UniversityThe opportunities at Saint Leo University are as diverse as our student population. As Florida’s first Catholic institu-tion of higher learning, we offer over 41 academic programs that meet the academic, spiritual, and professional goals of more than 15,000 traditional campus and adult continuing education students. More than 1,700 students live and study on our main campus in Saint Leo, nestled in the rolling hills of west central Florida just 30 minutes north of Tampa. Our students receive personalized attention in classes since these tend to be small – 18 students on average. They can choose from more than 40 undergraduate majors and specializations. Saint Leo University also offers graduate degrees in business administration, education, teaching, criminal justice, and pastoral studies. Traveling North or South• Take I-75 to exit #285. Head EAST on Highway 52 for about 4 miles. Saint Leo University will be onyour left.Traveling from Orlando•Take I-4 WEST and Exit 32 in Lakeland. Travel NORTH on Hwy 98 until it merges with Hwy. 301in Dade City. Turn right onto Hwy 301 and at the first light, Clinton Avenue, turn left. The road ends intoProspect Street and turn right. At the light, turn left onto Hwy 52. Saint Leo University will be on yourright. Average drive time from Orlando is 1 ½ hours.Traveling from Tampa International Airport (TIA)• Drive NORTH on I-275 through Tampa. I-275 NORTH will merge with I-75 NORTH. Once on I-75NORTH, follow the above directions, “Traveling North or South.” Average drive time from TIA is 45minutes

Service and Supplies• Ice, ice bags and water• Hydrocollator, Ultrasound, Whirlpools, Electrotherapy, and Interferential therapy available withinrequest.

Treatment Policy• Taping area will be provided.• If you are not traveling with a certified athletic trainer, please notify at least 24 hours in advance sowe can accommodate your needs.• Please send tape and supplies if you are not traveling with your team.• View website for additional information and treatment forms.

Athletic Training Room Service• The athletic training facility at Saint Leo offers the use of hot packs, ice, electrical stimulation,ultrasound, warm and cold whirlpools and a taping area. A Saint Leo University certified athletictrainer will be present on-site throughout your entire visit as a host and liaison to any other eventstaff including our team physicians. A physician will be on-call or present for most events.• Water, cups, biohazard supplies and ice with bags will be provided at the visitor’s sideline for eachcontest. Water and cups will also be provided in the visitor’s locker room for men’s and women’ssoccer, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball and lacrosse. Upon need, emergency equipmentsuch as an AED, crutches, splints, spine board, cervical collars, etc… will be provided.

Visiting Teams Traveling Without an ATC• If your team is traveling without a certified athletic trainer, please notify us 24 hours in advance. Notreatments will be administered UNLESS the student-athletes arrive with written request detailingthe type or amount of treatment to be given A letter from a certified athletic trainer is required forultrasound and electrical stimulation treatments to be performed on visiting student-athletes. Also,the Saint Leo University athletic training staff will assist your team with taping and wrapping needsprovided that teams provide their own supplies. Perhaps the most attractive aspect of the playing facilities at Saint Leo University is the fact thatevery athletic facility at Saint Leo is located directly on campus, making home events easily accessible forLions’ fans.

Men’s & Women’s Basketball, Volleyball – Capacity: 1,500

The Marion Bowman Activities Center is the heart of Saint Leo University athletics. The maingymnasium located in the Activities Center is home to the Lion men’s and women’s basketball, and women’svolleyball teams, as well as several other campus events including convocation and graduation. The gym hastwo full basketball and volleyball courts, and can seat as many as 1,500 spectators for an event in seat-backchairs. During the summer of 2008 the floor was re-surfaced and re-painted and a new lighting system wasinstalled before the 2009-2010 school year. The ligh ting system features 84 energy-efficient lights, usinghalf as much energy as it predecessor. Improvements have also been made to the rest of the ActivitiesCenter, which houses five classrooms, seven locker rooms and the athletic department offices. The athleticoffices were completely refurbished and modernized in 1996 and recent renovations have been made to thelocker room facilities. The fitness center was refurbished in 2009 featuring the latest in work out equipmentfor both weigh training and aerobics. This state-of-the-art facility is located in the lower level of theActivities Center and is home to Saint Leo University Sport and Fitness.

Hosts Baseball : Capacity: 1,200

The Saint Leo baseball team plays its home games at Thomas B. Southard Stadium, perhaps the beston-campus athletic facility at Saint Leo. In addition to its pristine playing surface, the completely enclosed field includes a major-league caliber lighting system, automatic sprinklers, drainage system, press box w,and a wireless electronic scoreboard. The stadium was fitted with three-dimensional wind-screen in 2009, as it garners acknowledgements as one of the premier complexes in the conference.

Hosts Men’s and Women’s Soccer & Lacrosse - Capacity: 1,000

The outdoor facilities at Saint Leo boast some of the best playing surfaces in the state of Florida. The surface of University Field is no different. Home to the men’s soc-cer, women’s soccer and lacrosse programs,the surface was re-done in the spring of 1996, being raised as much as two feet in some areas. A new sprinkler system was installed and the field was sprigged with Bermuda grass. Bench areas were created for both teams and the entire area was fenced in, making Saint Leo eligible to host NCAA post-season action.The Lions’ men’s soccer team hosted the NCAA Division II Regional in 2005, followed by Women’s NCAA first and second round action in the 2007. During the summer of 2006, lights were added to UniversityField bringing night contests to the complex for the first time ever.

Men’s & Women’s swimming - Capacity: 150University Pool, home to both the men’s and women’s swim teams, is 25 yards long and holds sixlanes. The pool’s depth ranges from 12 to three and a half feet, and is equipped with a heater and anunderwater observation deck. The pool is also equipped with a diving board, multiple lifeguard areas, and isconnected to both men’s and women’s locker rooms. In addition, it is also home to the Pasco High SchoolPirates and acts as the only recreation swimming pool on the Saint Leo campus

Hitting Facility

In January of 2011 the Saint Leo University Athletic Department opened what may be the nicest hit-ting facility in not only the Sunshine State Conference, but in all of NCAA Division II athletics. The state of the art hitting facility is complete with four covered batting cages, lighting system, turf floors, and a storage room. The facility lies in between the new University Softball Field and Thomas B. Southard stadium, right beyond the right field softball fence and right behind the home baseball dugout. The two cages designed specifically for baseball are 60 feet long, while the two designed for softball are 40 feet.

Men’s & Women’s Tennis - Capacity: 200Built in 2006, the Saint Leo University men’s and women’s tennis teams now play their home schedule in one of the most beautiful facilities in the state. Nestled in the northeast corner of the campus, the complexholds eight hard-court surfaces. Also, each two-court stadium is lit, making it possible fornight contests. Making the facility even more impressive is the main court shelter located between stadiums two and three. All materials for the shelter were do-nated by legendary tennis coach, Tim Crosby, The shelter will shade fans and teams from the outdoor climate.

Game Notes and programs will be distributed to visiting sports information directors and media before eachgame. For basketball, running play-by-play and a half time box will be distributed to coaches, SID’s andmedia. Completed statistics will be provided at the conclusion of each contest. If a SID or a representativewill not accompany team, we request a 48 hour notice of post-game media requests.

CredentialsVisiting Sports Information Directors and all other media are encouraged to call at least 24 hours in advanceto request credentials. Please direct your media to do the same.

Radio and Internet BroadcastsMarion Bowman Activities Center courtside phone line access will be provided for up to one visitingbroadcast station. In addition, wireless network access is available inside the gym for any broadcast needs.Special requests for credentials or broadcast services should be made by calling Sports Information Director,Evan Ortiz at 352-588-8506. Requests should be made at least 24 hours prior to the start of an event.

Live StatisticsSaint Leo Sports Information brings you live statistics for all home games. Fans will be able to view live in-game statistics for the following sports: Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Volleyball, Men’s and Women’sBasketball, Baseball, Softball and Lacrosse.

Locker Room InformationAvailability: Two hours prior to game time a locker room will be available for a visiting team. The lockerroom will be secured.Post Game: We do not provide shower towels, but arrangements can be made through a Saint LeoUniversity coach for your respective sport.InterviewsAll interviews with Saint Leo players and coaches should be scheduled through the Sports InformationOffice. The best time to arrange interviews is in the afternoon on weekdays (when not interfering withathletes’ class schedules).
