Visiting Priest, Rev. Robert Nee on behalf of Cross Catholic Outreach Weekend of February 8 – 9, 2020
Rev. Robert Nee is scheduled to visit our parish on behalf of Cross Catholic Outreach. He will hear Confessions, celebrate Mass and preach the homily at all the weekend Masses of February 8-9, 2020.
Father Nee will be speaking on behalf of the poor in developing countries. Cross Catholic Outreach was founded to create a meaningful link between parishes in America and the priests and nuns working in the Church overseas in the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and Central and South America. (Please note: Father Dan will not be here that weekend; he will be attending an annual retreat).
Today is Boy Scout Sunday We celebrate all of our wonderful Boy Scouts today for their accomplishments and we encourage them to continue their good work in our community. We also thank their leadership for their dedication to our youth.
A SCOUT'S PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, Help to keep my honor bright And teach me that integrity of character Is my most priceless possession. Grant that I may do my best today, And strive to do even better tomorrow. Teach me that duty is a friend and not an enemy, And help me face even the most disagreeable task cheerfully. Give me the faith to understand my purpose and life, Open my mind to the truth and fill my heart with love. I am thankful for all the blessings you have bestowed upon my country. Help me to do my duty to my country and To know that a good nation must be made from good men. Help me to remember my obligation to obey the Scout Law, And give me understanding, so that it is more than mere words. May I never tire of the joy of helping other people or Look the Other way when someone is in need. You have given me the gift of a body, Make me wise enough to keep it health, That I might serve better. You are the source of all wisdom, Help me to have an alert mind, Teach me to think, And help me to learn discipline. In all that I do and in every challenge I face, Help me to know the difference between right and wrong, And lead me in obedience on a straight path to a worthy goal.

Thank You From the Knights of Columbus The Frank Meader Knights of Columbus want to thank all of St. Mary's parishioners for their support of our recent pancake breakfast. Through the exceptional gracious-ness and generosity we were able to present Fr. McCoy with a sizeable donation to the St. Mary's statue project.
Knights of Columbus/Lazarus & Emmaus House are in need of Clean/Gently Used Coats as well
as New Hats, Gloves and Socks Boxes Are in the Vestibules of our Churches
The Knights of Columbus #6064 is partnering with the Lazarus House & Emmaus House through Saint Mary's “People Helping People” this year to bring coats to families. Please bring your gently worn and clean coat or jacket - all sizes children to adults, to St. Mary's and put them in the collection box near the entrance to the church. The Knights will work with the Houses/PHP to distribute these items in our local community and to the regional shelters such as the Lazarus and Emmaus House. Please remember that the coat or jacket should be clean and gently worn - hopefully warm too! If you do not have a jacket or coat perhaps you would consider donating a new pair of gloves, a new hat or some new warm socks to this effort. Thank you for your kindness!
Mass Policy during the Winter Season
The Cardinal Rule: If you think the roads and conditions are too dangerous to drive, please don’t drive.
If the Massachusetts State Police are urging drivers to stay off the roads, do not venture out.
On weekdays, if Georgetown/Rowley schools are cancelled due to snow or ice, then Daily Mass is cancelled regardless of where it is being held.
Mass in celebration of Sunday (Saturday 4:30 p.m. through Sunday 11:00 a.m.) will most likely NOT be canceled except in the event of a major storm where there are warnings about driving and/or people are told to stay off the roads.
In the event that a Sunday Mass is canceled, notice will be provided to area Television stations indicating such.
In all cases, we ask that you exercise caution while driving and walking on church property as the conditions may be less than ideal during or in the immediate aftermath of a winter storm. If questions arise, revert to The Cardinal Rule.
February 2 ~ The Feast of the Presentation of the Lord On this feast of the Presentation, the Gospel of Luke gives us a lovely scene on which to reflect. Mary and Joseph bring the child Jesus to the Temple to present him to the Lord. In the Temple, both Simeon and Anna, elders in the Temple, recognized Jesus as the Messiah, and gave witness to his presence. We come to Mass each week and receive Jesus Christ in Holy Communion. As we go forth from Mass today, we too give witness to Christ. Let us pray that in all we say and do, Christ will be visibly present in our lives.
