BISHOP DAVID J. WALKOWIAK ASKS US TO PRAY FOR OUR SEMINARIANS

Loving God, Raise up dedicated leaders who will shepherd your people and guide them to your Son. Give generous and willing hearts to the seminarians of our Diocese who have heard your call to live a life of ser-vice to the Church. Help us to encourage and support them as they strive to become priests who are models of discipleship, possessors of wisdom and on fire with love for your people. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

We especially pray for: Jacob Zemaitis

Our journey through Lent is over. The purple cloths have been removed. The church and altar are decorated with flowers. We can sing Alleluia with joy and celebration. The Lord is risen! Today’s Gospel names three people: Mary Magdalene, Peter, and the “disciple who Jesus loved.” By not being named, this disciple is in fact all of us. Each of us is the “disciple whom Je-sus loves.” Mary, faithful to the end goes to the tomb and alt-hough it is dark, sees the stone has been removed. She quickly runs and tells the others what she has seen; an empty tomb, burial cloths, and a head covering in another place. Having told the others, they too go to the tomb. They also see, but they more than see. They see and believe. They see and believe with their hearts. The mystery of the resurrection is able to be seen because God gives us the eyes of faith. Let us follow Mary’s example. Let us too stand at the empty tomb and be-lieve and then have the courage to proclaim the good news of Jesus’ resurrection. This Easter, may what we believe in our hearts and profess with our lips, be seen in the work of our hands and the quality of our daily lives. Let us sing Alleluia for He has risen! Happy Easter!

Please join us immediately following the 11:00 a.m. Easter Sunday Mass for an Easter Egg Hunt to celebrate the Res-urrection of Our Lord. Next Sunday, we will celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday.
