O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm. You…know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen. Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Moth-er of God. Do not disdain the entreaties of those of us who are in trial, but deliver us from every dan-ger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

CUARTO DOMINGO CUARESMA Lectura del santo evangelio según san Juan 9:1-41 En aquel tiempo, al pasar Jesús vio a un hombre ciego de nacimiento. Escupió en la tierra, hizo barro con la saliva, se lo unto en los ojos al ciego y le dijo: “Ve a lavarte a la piscina de Siloé (que significa Enviado).” Él fue, se lavó, y volvió con vista. Y los vecinos y los que antes solían verlo pedir limosna preguntaban: “¿No es ese el que se sentaba a pedir?” Unos decían: “El mismo”. Otros decían: “No es el, pero se le parece”. El res-pondía: “Soy yo”. Llevaron ante los fariseos al que había sido ciego. Era sábado el día que Jesús hizo barro y le abrió los ojos. También los fariseos le preguntaban cómo había adquirido la vista. Él les contesto: “Me puso barro en los ojos, me lave, y veo”. Algunos de los fariseos comentaban: “Este hombre no viene de dios, porque no guarda el sábado”. Otro replicaban: “Como puede un pecador hacer semejantes signos?” Y esta-ban divididos. Y volvieron a preguntarle al ciego: “Y tú, que dice del que te ha abierto los ojos?” El contesto: “Que es un profeta”. Le replicaron: “Empecatado naciste tú de pies a cabeza, y nos vas a dar lecciones a no-sotros?” Y lo expulsaron. Oyó Jesús que lo habían expulsado, lo encontró y le dijo: “Crees tú en el Hijo del hombre?” El contesto: “Y quien es, Señor, para que crea en el?” Jesús le dijo: “Lo está viendo: el que te está hablando, ese es”. Él dijo: “Creo, Señor”. y se postro ante él. Reflexión basada en Juan 9:1-41 Padre, dame la gracia de recordar que todo lo que tengo viene de ti, y que me ha dado dones no para enva-necerme, sino para que pueda amarte y servirte construyendo paz entre mis hermanos, por medio de Jesús, tu Hijo.

LORD, I WANT TO SEE “Then Jesus said, “I came into this world for judgment, so that those

who do not see might see, and those do see might become blind.” –John 9:39

Today’s Gospel sets before us the story of the man born blind, to whom Jesus gives sight. The lengthy account opens with a blind man who begins to see physically and it closes with the alleged seers who remain blind spiritually. The miracle in narrated by John in just two verses, because he does want to draw attention to the miracle itself, but rather to the repercussions it arouses. So many times a good work arouses gossip and controversy because there are some who do not want to see the truth. John wants to draw attention to something that also occurs in our own day when a good is per-formed. The blind man who is healed is first interrogated by the astonished crowd who saw the miracle and then by the teacher of the law who also interrogate his par-ents. In the end the blind man who was healed attains to faith, and this is the greatest grace that Jesus grants him: not only to see, but also to know him, to see in him “the light of the world.”

When have I been most “blind” to what God is doing in the events of my life?

FOURTH SUNDAY LENT Reading of the holy gospel according to John 9: 1-41

At that time, as Jesus passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. He spat on the ground, made mud with saliva, rubbed it on the blind man's eyes and said: "Go wash in the pool at Siloé (which means Envoy)." He went, washed, and came back with a view. And the neigh-bors and those who used to see him ask for alms before asked: "Isn't that the one who sat down to ask?" Some said: "The same". Others said: "It is not him, but he looks like him." He replied: "It is me." They brought to the Pharisees the man who had been blind. It was Satur-day the day Jesus made clay and opened his eyes. The Pharisees also asked him how he had acquired sight. He replied: "He put mud on my eyes, I washed, and I see." Some of the Phari-sees commented: "This man does not come from God, because he does not keep the Sab-bath." Another replied: "How can a sinner make such signs?" And they were divided. And they asked the blind man again: "And you, what does he say about the one who has opened your eyes?" He replied: "What is a prophet". They replied: "You were born stubborn from head to toe, and are you going to give us lessons?" And they expelled him. Jesus heard that he had been expelled, found him and said: "Do you believe in the Son of man?" He replied: "And who is he, Lord, so that I may believe in him?" Jesus said to him: "He is seeing him: he who is speaking to you is that one." He said, "I believe, Lord". and prostrated before him.

Reflection based on John 9: 1-41 Father, give me the grace to remember that everything I have comes from you, and that it has given me gifts not to be puffed up, but so that I can love and serve you, building peace between my brothers, through Jesus, your Son.

Oración del Papa Francisco por protección y ayuda

Oh María, tú resplandeces siempre en nuestro camino como signo de salvación y de esperanza. Nosotros nos confiamos a ti, Salud de los enfermos, que bajo la cruz estuviste asociada al dolor de Jesús, manteniendo firme tu fe. Tú, Salvación del pueblo romano, sabes de qué tenemos necesidad y estamos seguros que proveerás, para que, como en Caná de Galilea, pueda volver la alegría y la fiesta después de este momento de prueba. Ayúdanos, Madre del Divino Amor, a conformarnos a la voluntad del Padre y a hacer lo que nos dirá Jesús, quien ha tomado sobre sí nuestros sufrimientos y ha cargado nuestros dolores para conducirnos, a través de la cruz, a la alegría de la resurrección. Amén. Bajo tu protección buscamos refugio, Santa Madre de Dios. No desprecies nuestras súplicas que estamos en la prueba y libéranos de todo pecado, o Virgen gloriosa y bendita”

SEÑOR, QUIERO VER "Entonces Jesús dijo:" Vine a este mundo para ser juzgado, para que los que no ven puedan

ver, y los que ven puedan quedar ciegos”. –Juan 9:39 El Evangelio de hoy nos presenta la historia del hombre nacido ciego, a quien Jesús da la vista. La larga cuenta comienza con un hombre ciego que comienza a ver físicamen-te y cierra con los presuntos videntes que permanecen ciegos espiritualmente. El mila-gro es narrado por John en solo dos versículos, porque él quiere llamar la atención so-bre el milagro en sí mismo, sino más bien sobre las repercusiones que despierta. Mu-chas veces un buen trabajo suscita chismes y controversias porque hay algunos que no quieren ver la verdad. John quiere llamar la atención sobre algo que también ocurre en nuestros días cuando se realiza un bien. El hombre ciego que está curado es inte-rrogado primero por la multitud asombrada que vio el milagro y luego por el maestro de la ley que también interroga a sus padres. Al final, el ciego que fue sanado alcanza la fe, y esta es la mayor gracia que Jesús le otorga: no solo para ver, sino también para conocerlo, para ver en él "la luz del mundo".
