Dear Fr. Don Meuret and parishioners of St Paul, Cordial greetings to you all! I, Fr. Jerome Patric will be the mission preacher on August 26th & 27th 2021 All of us know the story of “EWTN” Catholic TV channel in US and how Mother Angelica began the media in a garage with only $200. Today EWTN TV Channel contributes a best level Evangelization. In the same way “Madha TV is a Tamil language Catholic Television Channel in South India. On February 14th 2014 Fr David Rocky founded this TV channel for Tamil Speaking Catholics. “Madha” is a translation of Blessed Mother Mary”. As we all know it is not that much easy task to run a TV Channel in this competitive world. Just like Mother Angelica, Fr. David Rocky pioneered his jour-ney with very few cameras, equipment and minimum facilities. Almost 7 million people watched this Catho-lic Channel during covid-19 crisis. Tamil speaking Catholics all over the world quenched their Spiritual thirst through this Channel. Faithful people from US, Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia and other countries watch regularly this channel. Fr. Rocky was very particular in naming “Madha” TV that impresses Catholic identity and helps thousands of Catholics to sustain in Catholicism amidst Pentecostal and various denominations’ challenges. The telecast-ing infuses an effective impact on live Holy Mass, Eu-charistic Devotion, Novena schedule for Blessed Vir-gin Mother, updating traditions, teaching of the cate-chism of the Catholic Church, and weekly updates of the Pope’s Message to our Catholics. Regular live tele-cast of healing prayer service from the Basilica of Our Lady of Good health from Besant Nagar, Chennai is a great blessing for bed-ridden and home-bound to watch Holy Mass. Large number of Non-Christians benefitted through this evangelization media. Madha TV program is being distributed via satellite, cable network, dishnet, internet(www.madhatv.in), mobile apps too.
Catholic Church in India is economically poor. This TV Channel is a non-commercial telecast media. We need professional quality programme to upload through Satellite. Five priests are working 24/7 in the studio. The Bible productions and telecasting involves huge sacrifice, talents and finance. Mission preaching contributions and donations around the world supports a lot to this media to proclaim Gospel.

What is the “Miraculous Medal” and why is it called that?
The medal of the Immaculate Conception that has come to be called simply the “Miraculous Medal” dates back to an apparition of Mary to Saint Catherine Laboure, who was then a novice sister with the Daughters of Charity. On No-vember 27, 1830, Our Lady appeared to her standing on a globe, with shafts of light streaming from her hands and the words, “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee,” surrounding the image. In the same vision, Catherine saw a capital “M” with a cross above it and below two hearts. Catherine seemed to hear a voice telling her to have what she saw struck as a medal and a promise that those who wore the medal would have the pro-tection and intercession of the Mother of God. The first 1,500 of medals were distributed in 1832. Many miraculous favors were attributed to the use of the medal. Saint Catherine’s “Miraculous Medal” is among the recog-nizable and popular symbols of modern Catholicism. Re-flecting on its widespread use, the 2001 Vatican document, “Directory on Popular Piety and Liturgy,” observes that the medal “recalls the mystery of Redemption, the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and of the Sorrowful Heart of Mary. It signifies the mediatory role of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mystery of the Church, the relationship between Heaven and earth, this life and eternal life.” ©LPi
