Vocations ‘ Corner Thank you to our Altar Society Ministry for all your work in adorning our church and for graciously accepting the Vocations Cross for the months of February and March. Be sure to keep our adopted Seminarian, Victor Goranov in your prayers as he continues in his theology classes at St. Patrick’s Seminary. Remember also to pray daily

for an increase of vocations to the priesthood, especially for those currently discerning this call. Holy Spirit of wisdom and divine love, impart Your knowledge, understanding and counsel to youth that they may know the vocation wherein they can best serve God. Give them courage and strength to follow God’s holy will. Guide their uncertain steps, strengthen their resolutions, shield their

ASH WEDNESDAY Prayer, fasting, and almsgiving: these disciplines, prescribed by Jesus himself in the Sermon on the Mount, along with strict instructions not to flaunt them in public to win recognition and praise (Matthew 6:1-18), have been embraced by all the saints at the beginning of every Lent for almost two thousand years. But mention Lent, and many react with a grimace or slight shudder—even now, years after official obligations have been reduced to a minimum! No wonder the Eastern Rite’s “Lenten Announcement” sounds surprising: “Let us receive with joy, O faithful people, the divinely inspired announcement of Lent! The Lenten Spring shines forth! Begin the fast with joy! Let us fast from passions as well as food, taking pleasure in the good works of the Spirit, and accomplishing them in love!”

MIÉRCOLES DE CENIZA Oración, ayuno y limosna: estas disciplinas, prescritas por Jesús mismo en el Sermón del Monte, junto con instrucciones estrictas de no hacer alarde de ellas en público para ganar reconocimiento y alabanza (Mateo 6: 1-18), han sido aceptadas por todos los santos al comienzo de cada Cuaresma por casi dos mil años. The Children's “Liturgy of the Word” dismissal is celebrated at the Sunday, 9 am Mass, through May 2020. The children are invited to hear the word proclaimed and explained at their level. They will rejoin their families at the time of the creed, to

continue the celebration of the Mass. All children are welcome. Parents are invited to join their children, especially those too young to dismiss alone.

As members of the Catholic Community of St. Rose, the St. Rose Journey in the Spirit Ministry is offering monthly Grief Support Group Sessions for individuals who have experienced loss through the death of a loved one. The goal of this group is to provide a process for healing within a safe and supportive environment.

Today is Gabriel Project Sign-up Sunday. As you have been reading in the Bulletin, The Gabriel Project is a church-based outreach to women in difficult and crisis pregnancies. The Church helps meet the woman's emotional, spiritual and material needs through our Ga-briel Project.

Today I am asking you to fill out the volunteer sheets after this service (or Mass.) There will be an informational meeting for everyone interested. This meeting will give you a chance to have any questions answered and to learn more about The Gabriel Pro-ject. Thank you for showing your commitment to women in need!
