VESPERS WITH BLESSING OF EPIPHANY WATER

Sunday, January 3 @5pm The Feast of the Epiphany has historically included a focus on the Baptism of our Lord. Out of that grew the tradition of blessing Epiphany Water, a very powerful sacramental which the faithful can use for blessings in their own homes. All are invited to join us as we pray Vespers, or Evening Prayer. All are invited to bring a container of water to be blessed during the liturgy.

CONGRATULATIONS ON A JOB WELL DONE!

With help from Saints Mary & Mathais and members of the community, our local Knights of Columbus Council was able to

provide meals for over 1,000 people this Thanksgiving! We are so proud of the work they do, and so very grateful to

everyone who supported them in their efforts. Keep up the good work, brother Knights!

Do you know someone who's going to be alone this Christmas? Because of COVID-19 more we know a lot of folks are probably going to be spending Christmas by themselves this year, and we'd like to help

bring them just a little bit of Christmas cheer. If you know someone who's going to be alone this Christmas (even if that someone is you) please contact the parish office so we can bring them a special Christmas care package. Thanks for helping us spread some Christmas cheer!

END OF THE YEAR GIVING

As you are thinking about your end-of-the-year giving, please remember to include Saints Mary & Mathias in your plans! Many of our parishioners have made the move to online giving over the past few months, and that has been a tremendous blessing to our parish. As you can tell from our weekly financial statements, however, offertory giving continues to be down, so every little bit helps! Saints Mary & Mathias depends on your sacrificial giving to provide ministries to our parishioners and our community. And don’t forget, to be included in your 2020 charitable giving statement, donations must be received by or postmarked no later than December 31st. The parish office will be open on December 28th and 29th from 8:30am - 11am if you need to drop off your contributions. MASS CANCELATION IN THE CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER

As we move towards winter the chance of weather-related cancelations gets bigger. In the event that Muscatine Public Schools delays or cancels school, the 7:00am daily

Mass will automatically be cancelled as well. In the event that school is dismissed early, all evening activities will be cancelled as well. Any exceptions to this policy will be

announced via the parish Facebook page and the parish app. This policy is intended not only to help keep our parishioners and guests safe, but to make it easy to know

when Mass has been cancelled. On those days when Mass has to be cancelled due to weather Fr. Hai or Fr. Chris will still offer the day’s Mass intention in their private Mass.
