Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Lord, Congratulations to two of our Cantors, Maggie Kelly and Julia Darlak, who are participating in the Philadelphia Archdiocesan All Catholic Chorus on February 9th at Archbishop Ryan High School. Maggie and Julia are Seniors at Bishop Shanahan High School, and we are delighted to have them as part of our Ss. Philip and James Music Ministry; and we thank them for sharing their gifts so generously with our community. Continued Blessings to both of you! Congratulations to Scouts Ryan Joseph, James Bennett and Eric Villano who obtained Eagle Scout Recognition today. Congratulations to the following students who received honors at Villa Maria Academy for the First Semester of this school year: Georgia Elinski, Annie Shaw, Ella McDonald, Olivia McKenzie, Natalie Young, Lourdes Serena Jude Patrick, Ryane Petticord. Baby Bottle Drive will begin next week with the distribution of baby bottles at the masses. Please use them to collect your change which will be returned for expectant mothers in difficult situations during Holy Week. Attention Prep Parents: Tuesday, February 11 and Wednesday, February 12 Prep Mass at 6:45PM in Church. Come and join your children in the Eucharistic Celebration. CATHOLIC CHARITIES 2020. Next week the video soliciting our help for these worthy charities will be shown at all of our masses next weekend. As you know Lent is around the corner. This year in addition to our two daily Masses and Stations of the Cross we will have a Solemn Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal leading up to and including the Solemnity of the Annunciation of Our Lord, March 25, nine months prior to Christmas. Father Michael Callahan, Director of the National Shrine of the Miraculous Medal, in Germantown section of Philadelphia, will be with us and preach each of these days. The Novena Prayers will be prayed at the 8:30 morning Mass, all of the weekend Masses, and again at a special evening Mass each day at 7 PM including Saturday and Sunday. Plan to be part of this wonderful opportunity to honor our Blessed Mother and her gift of the Miraculous Medal and pray for your special intentions during this opportunity of grace. I am also delighted that the Shepherds of the Holy Land will be with us during the Novena with their wonderful olive wood devotional items from the Holy Lands. The interest in these was sensational at the time of their last visit with us. Plan to keep March 17 to the 25 marked in your calendars so as to not miss this Spiritual opportunity. +jcd

Note that this education session is being run at the same time as PREP to accommodate PREP Parents being able to attend.
