EXPLANATION DATA SOURCESORTHOPHOTOGRAPHY - Orthophotography is provided by the USGS and is based on 1990 3.75Minute Digital Orthophoto Quarter Quadrangles (DOQQs) which cover one quarter the area of aUSGS 7.5 minute topographic quadrangle map.BASE MAP DATA - All data is based on 1:24,000 scale and displays geographic names, places andtheir symbols, town boundaries, railroads, and airports. Base map data is neither current nor complete.Street data is based on TeleAtlas copyrighted data.MAPS AND DIGITAL DATA - Visit the CT ECO website for this map and a variety of others in PDFformat. This map displays 1990 black and white orthophotographybased on the 1990 USGS 3.75 Minute Digital OrthophotoQuarter Quadrangles (DOQQs), which cover one quarterthe area of a USGS 7.5 minute topographic quadranglemap. The photographs were taken in the Spring of 1990during leaf-off conditions and the ground resolution forthe imagery is 3.28 feet (1 meter) per image pixel. Thisstatewide orthophotography is not color balanced so someareas may be darker than others. Also, the location and

shape of features in other GIS data may not exactly matchinformation shown in the photos. Street-level data such asmajor interstates, US routes, state routes, streets, railroads,and ferry crossings are displayed. Due to changes in thelocation and names of streets, streets in the orthophotomay not match the street layer. Also shown are airports,hospitals, educational facilities, train stations, and townboundaries. Important geographic locations andwaterbodies are labeled.
