What’s Hot!The Salsa Blast festival is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 4th. Admission and parking are free. No coolers, outside food/beverages or pets on site. Come and taste dozens of different salsas – from mild to wild – dished up by private label salsa companies and restaurants from throughout the Coachella Valley, all entering into our Salsa Taste Challenge contest. Participating food vendors will be selling delicious BBQ, Latin cuisine, frosty Italian ices, amazing burgers and more. Come hungry, leave satisfied.

Music and DanceSizzling entertainment takes center stage with entertainers brought to us by Epoch Momentous and the Boys & Girls Club of the Coachella Valley. Live DJ remotes from local radio stations including MIX 100.5, KDES 98.5 and U92.7.

DJ Latin K weenz will be turning up the heat in the Caliente Club, admission $15 per person and include one complimentary drink. Tempting adult beverages from Babe’s Bar-B-Que & Brewhouse, Crater Lake Vodka and Budweiser

products are available in the Beer Garden and Caliente Club. Must be 21 or older to enter. A valid ID required.

Hot Cars & Cool RidesCome and enjoy the unique classic cars and bikes. Admission is free. Car Show judging will be held at 2 p.m. with an awards presentation Main Stage at 3 p.m.

PrizesAttendees can purchase raffle tickets and Salsa Tasting Ballots for only $1 each and be entered into drawings for great prizes. Proceeds benefitting the Desert Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce events and programs.

Kids Blast Family Fun ZoneEnjoy a fun day with Camp of Champions in our family fun zone. Play games and earn prizes! Don’t forget to dunk a spicy pepper at our Dunk Tank with proceeds benefitting the

Blast!” The Desert Hot Springs Salsa Festival, “Salsa Blast!” will be held today - Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Pierson Blvd., west of Palm Drive in DHS. “Salsa Blast!” is presented by the Desert Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce and is a free community event designed to celebrate everything salsa – savory spices, tempting rhythms and mesmerizing moves. You can taste it, you can dance it and you can even take it home.Do you prepare the best salsa around? Prove it at Salsa Blast!“We expect more than 5,000 attendees,” said DHS Chamber

President and CEO Heather Coladonato. “Interest and participation in the event has surpassed our expectations.” Gather your fans to vote for you as one of our 2013 divisional champions. Salsa Blast! will feature the Great Salsa Challenge with participation

open to restaurants, chefs, aspiring chefs, home cooks, groups and non-profit organizations from throughout the Coachella Valley. Prizes will be awarded to winners in the following divisions: Best Hot Salsa; Best Medium Salsa; Best

Mild Salsa; Best Red Salsa; Best Green Salsa; Best Specialty/Fruit Salsa, People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice.

There is a $1 charge per vote to cast your ballot for your favorite salsas with proceeds benefitting the chamber’s community events and programs. There will be food, music, vendors, a Kid Blast Fun Zone, a Custom Car Show and a DJ-inspired exclusive Caliente Club. There’s sure to be something spicy at the Salsa Blast! for everyone.
