Samarth Diamond arranged a Training Programme at Kothasana on 21st and 22nd May, 2015. The two days and a night programme was conducted by Management Trainer Shri Sureshbhai Patel. 42 members from various units of Satlasana, Visnagar and Mumbai participated in it. Initially, the training was in jeopardy as the daughter of Shri Sureshbhai had got injured at Abu. However, he insisted to follow the pre planned schedule.

The programme began with a prayer. The partner of the company, Shri Govindbhai Patel threw ample light on the details like the establishment of the company, its progress, moral values, vision, mission, and value of interaction between the top management and the diamond workers. He emphasised particularly on the improvement of various skills of all.

Shri Sureshbhai Patel, opened the programme by writing a sentence as the gist

of the training and divided that sentence into five parts: 1) If I 2) wish, 3) I can make 4) the entire world 5) happy. A meticulous study was conducted on these parts.

By ‘I’ he explained that ‘I’ is a human-being and not an animal and stressed on the aspect of togetherness. By ‘I wish’ he meant that everyone must listen to his inner voice. By ‘I can make’ he meant to say that one can accomplish anything if he has the will to do it. By ‘The entire world’ and 'Happy' he said that if all the workers and friends work collectively and spread happiness throughout the day, they should be able to carry and spread that very happiness even after reaching their respective homes.

Thus, during this two day seminar, just a sentence did suffice and provided with all the important aspects of life which might serve one throughout his life and this too was accomplished in an absolutely light atmosphere!

Whole training with just a sentence!During the training programme held in the month of May, we learnt how to live life and spread happiness

Health care In monsoon

Don’t drench or wet • yourself in this season.Don’t stay much on • liquid diet.Eat rice, Roti, Khichadi • which are cooked in oil with necessary ingredients. Eat light, sticky and warm food. Don’t eat dry articles such as Mamara, Baked grams or Popcorns and don’t drink cold drinks. Make sure that you do • massage on the day of rain break when there is good sunlight.Basking in the sun is • very useful. Boil water with dry • ginger and coriander seeds before drinking. Avoid sleeping in the • day time.Don’t walk barefooted.• Eat sticky, warm and • juicy food especially during the period of continuous rain.

Steps to health Monsoon means the season of Mother Nature’s kindness to the mankind. It is the season of the Lord’s compassion. All love this season. Here is an effort to present the health oriented useful guidance in a nutshell.

Routine For The Rainy Season/Monsoon

WAKING UP: One should wake up before the Sunrise (at four in the morning i.e. Brahma Muhurta)

PURITY OR CLEANLINESS OF BODY: The process of motion becomes easy by walking a distance of four to five kilometers after mental recitation of Lord’s name.

BRUSHING OF TEETH: Use the brush stick of Pomgania, Neem, Khar, Babul, Mimusops elengi (Borsalli), Pomengranate, Peepal, Champa, Parijat or Zeel whichever is available. Its juice mixes with the body fluid and gives strength, intelligence, good memory and health.

MASSAGE: Nothing is more efficacious than massage to enhance physical strength, beauty, flexibility and to get rid of the gastric diseases. Massage should be done right from the head to the sole of legs. Various proven oils can be applied or used for various organs of body.

GAS: Fill your mind, head and lungs fully by inhaling

pure oxygen and have a look at your alertness. Cultivate a habit of Pranayaam for it.

EXERCISE: The toxic elements or waste drains out of your body in the form of perspiration if you have a good physical workout. It stimulates your appetite.

Blood circulation becomes faster and hence blood purification becomes more efficacious. You can get rid of laziness and gain alertness. All the organs of the body function properly and efficiently. Take such exercise suitable to your body for 30 to 40 minutes and practice Yoga after it.

TIME FOR MEALS: Take your lunch well in time. Noon is the time when digestive power gets stimulated and if one doesn’t take lunch in time, he is likely to fall victim to gastric diseases.

FOOD/DIET: Food should be juicy, pure and with balanced proportion of ghee or oil. One’s mind, heart and body remain happy if one eats delicious and tasteful. Consider your food as God and eat every morsel chewing properly.

SLEEP: Adequate sleep is very important. Those who go to bed late fall victim to piles, fistula, palsy, swelling of knees, chronic rheumatism (paralysis), weakness of senses and blood pressure etc. Have a sound sleep for 6 to 8 hours.

“Monsoon means falling in love with Mother Nature over and over again, but at the same time it is also a season to take utmost care of one’s health!”

Two inspirational books that can enhance our will power

A medical professor turned famous inspirational orator Shri Jitendra Adhiya’s books have really become like streams of inspiration for the entire society. Shri Satishkumar Patel, a worker from the Service Department of the company shares some points from both the books that touched him deeply.

Books Review

Friends, I read two interesting books in this month. The writer of both the books is the inspirational orator Shri Jitendra Adhiya. I enlightened myself a lot about a human-being’s conscious and sub-conscious mind from these books.

The function of the • conscious mind is related to touch, movements of organs, sensitivity and to judge etc. The function of the sub-• conscious mind is related to breathe, digestion, blood circulation, memory etc. Whenever we do something wrong, an inner voice which pulls us back and stops us from doing it is the voice of our sub-conscious mind.

The programming of the Subconscious mind:

Subconscious mind is based on programming. The programming process which is normally active since our childhood sets its foothold in our subconscious mind and it is reflected in our speech and behavior.

INPUT: It is done by eyes and ears. OUTPUT: It is reflected in our speech and behavior.

How can the programming of the subconscious mind be changed?

If one wants to change 1. the programming of subconscious mind, one has to go into the Alpha level and give positive commands to subconscious mind.By reading good books 2. also we can change our programming.

There is a guard between the subconscious and conscious mind which prevents the journey of positive thoughts from subconscious mind to conscious mind. It stops the thoughts with words like “This is not my work”, “I don’t know how to do this work”, “I can’t do this”. Consequently we can’t do the work which we should or can do. If we don’t give ears to this guard, we can do everything.

If we visualise what we want to do or achieve and command frequently and persistently to our subconscious mind, our efforts in the direction of doing or achieving it automatically gets activated and we can do and achieve it. Thus, the function of the subconscious mind is like a “Genie” who will accomplish anything you wish!

"We had thought of buying Activa at the time of joining the company. We talked about it to Shri Dashrathbhai. He told us that we would be able to progress from Cycle to Activa, but we would not be able to go back to Cycles if we had Activa from the outset!

Then we decided to buy bicycles. Shri Govindbhai told us that the company was going to purchase bicycles and therefore all the three of us purchased bicycles from Samarth. Initially when we commuted on bicycles, we used to feel embarrassed but it has become sheer fun now! Moreover, it is beneficial both economically and physically.

We enjoy following benefits from the use of bicycles:

Cycling gives us an • opportunity to take exercise regularly and hence we don’t have to spare special time for exercise. It saves a lot of time. • Previously, we had to waste 40 minutes when we used to come on foot and now it hardly takes 8 to 10 minutes to reach the workplace. In this way, we can make use of the saved 30 minutes and complete one more task or work. It is economically viable •

and saves money as you don’t need petrol! It prevents pollution.• It helps us a lot in the thick • of the traffic as a bicycle can make its way very comfortably. There is no problem of • parking and even in the crowded market, we can easily manage a parking place for a bicycle. You don’t have to be • bothered about either putting a helmet on or carrying it with you wherever you go. Moreover, in case of • a bicycle even if gets punctured, it is still easy to carry it along.Bicycle can be very • beneficial for our country where as much as 70% fuels has to be imported from foreign countries.

Keeping these benefits of using a bicycle in mind, we would like to request all the workers residing in or around Visnagar to use bicycles so that the company’s purpose of using bicycles can be served and at the same time, we can help our country as well.''

Commuting on bicycle means

Being Happy and Healthy!

Samarth encourages its employees to come for their jobs on their bicycles and for this purpose, the company purchases bicycles in bulk and hence the cost of bicycle purchased goes even lower. Moreover, the workers who regularly commute on bicycles are given an additional discount of Rs. 1,000/- from the company.

A number of workers have benefitted from this practice. Let’s know from the women employees of the company Gayatri Arunbhai Patel, Neha Dilipbhai Patel and Bhagwati Ashokbhai Patel the advantages of bicycle they have experienced in their own words:

Peddling toHappiness

good, healthy relationships – forgive and proceed ahead. Take good people along with you in the journey.”

Two sons of Shri Jethusinh Jitendrasinh (Unit -3) and Gautam (Aathpel) work in Samarth itself. When he was asked as to why he had involved his sons in this

diamond work, he said, "By working with good people in Samarth, they would also be virtuous and refrain from harmful habits or addictions. Regularity and discipline can be inculcated by working among good people and this belief of mine has turned out to be so true.”

Advising the young entrants of Samath, he added, “The younger

"One becomes virtuous by working at Samarth!"Shri Jethusinh Amarsinh, one of the first five workers of Samarth hereby shares his own experience of working in the company. Here are excerpts of his conversation with the company HR Coach Shri Vikrambhai Mahida.

“The year 1996 had witnessed devastating floods. The river Sabarmati and other rivers were in full flow. It was inevitable for me to reach Visnagar. I was the manager of Aathpel and I had to complete the work. We plunged our Jeep into the wild waters and eventually after taking a twenty kilometers longer route we reached Visnagar. We always see to it that no work however major or trivial gets delayed.”

These were the words of Shri Jethusinh Amarsinh Rathod. One of the first five Diamond workers at Samarth. Recollecting the initial days of struggle in Samarth, he says, “An expert in the field of Diamond, Shri Nipunbhai had once visited the factory. Witnessing the work at Samarth, he said, “This is not a factory. This is a laboratory!”

When he was asked as to which factors had a lion share in elevating the company to this level, he said that the very DNA of the partners of Samarth is the art to maintain

generation of today has the skill to learn quickly. All they need is their focus on their job. If these young workers work hard without wasting their time, they can earn a lot of money!”

“It is the mission of Samarth to spread happiness among 20,000 families by the year 2020. What is your experience?” To this he answered, “I had a heart attack in the year 2013. Govindbhai used to visit me then and suggest to the doctor to keep me hospitalized for a few days more as he thought that I would be able to have proper rest there. I had a complete rest at my home for six months. All the necessary care was take and today I am hale and hearty! Samarth is like a family not only to me but also to many like me. Our owner is like a walnut who appears hard on the surface but very mild and sensitive from within.”

Warm wishes to all for a brighter future!

Once Baa and Bapuji (Gandhiji) had gone for a walk as usual. While walking, Bapuji hurt his toe and it started bleeding. Seeing this, Bapuji told Baa, "Fetch a bandage quickly and wrap it around my injured toe."

Seeing Bapuji in such a restless state, Baa commented, "You are not afraid of death as you often say. Why are you so frightened though it is just a minor injury and just a little bleeding?"

Hearing this, Bapu said, "This body is

owned by people. Due to my carelessness, if the injured toe comes in contact with water and the injury gets aggravated, it will become very difficult for me to continue my work for

seven to eight days and people will have to bear the loss on

account of that! Moreover, it is like a breach of trust with people."
