Sub-Sahara represent the world’s 2nd fastest growth economy, and this century is predicted to be the African century, as the continent undergoes an industrial and digital revolution, combined with massive urbanization, a growing middle-class and increased diversification in trade. This opens up an array of opportunities across continents, which also require international partner-ships with stable and business-worthy actors that can
support this development and capacity building.
While African actors needs connectors with long-term perspectives to partner with for sustainable growth, Norway represent a world-leading maritime cluster that delivers cutting edge innovation, technology and commercial solutions. Combined with a strong history of long-term commitments on ensuring sustainable business, Nor-Shipping 2017 will facilitate an optimal platform for exploring new opportunities for partner-
ships and insights from leading experts.
In addition to the African Pavilion, delegates will be able to attend round-table meetings, workshops and social events bridging the mar-kets and actors closer together. The detailed program highlights are yet to be revealed, but the Organizing Partners and the Nor-Shipping team will be available for practical questions or interest to participate
at Nor-Shipping 2017.
This program will cover insights from leading profiles across a span of seg-ments and fields, and from various regions within the African continent. An excellent introduction to explore current hot topics within the maritime sector, energy as well as ocean industries. Introducing the African Union’s Blue Strategy, and the strategic partnership between AU and Norway;

AFRICA NIGHT
Through a cooperation with Norwegian Africa Business Association and AO Consulting as Organizing Partners, and an MoU with South Africa’s maritime administration (SAMSA), Nor-Shipping 2017 will for the very first
time feature a dedicated focus on the African markets.
We are delighted to present the first Africa@Nor-Shipping to our delegates and partners, a week-long program customized to gather and connect the most attractive business partners from each continent. We will facilitate a high-quality networking platform for top executive delegates to build bridges with African industry players; and the perfect arena to investigate and discuss the potential business opportunities arising between Norway
and Africa.
As entering new markets and attracting investors from abroad always represent a mutual span of challenges and risks alongside the o portunities, establishing good dialogues and partnerships with the right regional and local business partners is a key for creating future success and growth. This alliance aims to highlight and gather some key commercial opportunity insight, whilst facilitating efficient and broad networking access between
the prime potential business partners from the two continents.
The Africa@Nor-Shipping cooperation is linked to Nor-Shipping’s Ocean Industry program, and aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Besides the commercial & technical focus, the agreement also commits all parties to collaborate on initiatives promoting sustainable business op-portunities, and a mutual focus on the next generation change-makers;
female leaders and young professionals.
AFRICAN PAVILIONAs official Organizing Partners, the Norwegian African Business Association (NABA), and organizer of Nordic-African BusinessSummit, in cooperation with AO Energy Consulting, will organize the first African pavilion at Nor-Shipping 2017, as part of the African delegations visiting Oslo.
