September 15, 2014 Dear Indian Springs High School Parents and Guardians: Indian Springs High School is committed to educating all students in a safe and secure learning environment. I want to provide you with accurate information to dispel any rumors you may have heard regarding a law enforcement investigation and arrest involving an Indian Springs High School teacher. On Friday, September 12, we were notified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department of the impending arrest of one of our teachers after allegations arose of an inappropriate relationship between the teacher and a current student and a former student. The teacher was subsequently arrested on Sunday, September 14. In an effort to protect the integrity of the law enforcement investigation and to protect the teacher’s due process rights, we cannot identify the teacher or release any further information about this matter. The District has launched its own investigation and placed the teacher on administrative leave effective September 12. I want to take this opportunity to reassure you that the San Bernardino City Unified School District takes these allegations very seriously, and we are cooperating fully with the Sheriff’s Department investigation. The District believes that this is an isolated case, one which does not reflect on our highly qualified teachers and staff who truly care about the welfare of our students. Thank you for your attention to this very important matter. If you have information that is pertinent to this investigation, please call District Police at 388-6130. Sincerely, Dr. Alan Kay Principal
