proved an alternate path to

eligibility for the Certified

Internal Auditor designa-

tion for candidates who do

not have a bachelorrsquos de-

gree from an accredited

university

Candidates may now be-

come eligible for the CIA

subject to approval if they

possess either

bull 2 years of post-

secondary education

and 5 years of verified

experience in internal

auditing or its equiva-

lent

bull 7 years of verified ex-

perience in internal

audit or its equivalent
