Sanakdank, probable first ascent. This peak is situated near Gushal village on the M anali-to-Leh Highway, 7km before Keylong. From Gushal a seven-m em ber team from the Clim bers Circle, Kolkata, trekked southw est for two days to establish base cam p on August 9 at an altitude of just under 4,600m. The team needed two m ore cam ps to get to the foot of the m ountain . O n the 15th Aun Kanti Das, D ibyendu Haider, and Tapan Kum ar M ukherjee, with two high-alti- tude porters reached the 6,044m sum m it.
