Highlights on Covid relevant activities by DT4D teams
• In partnership with the Task Force on COVID Mobility Analytics, the DT4D teams "AI AgainstCrisis and Conflict" and "Enhancing Disaster Preparedness Through Smartphone LocationData" presented at the SD Data clinic on Using Mobile Phone Data to Support Covid-19Response (Mar 2020), sponsored by DIME.
• The teams shared how they are leveraging mobile phone data provided by the DataPartnership Development to support Covid-19 response.
• The event was disseminated to the Lab Leads, Development Data Partnership Team, SelectData Partners, DECDG, DECIS, DECRG, DECIE, ITS Technology and Innovation Lab, GFDRR CityLab, ITS GeoLab, GOST, and Select Colleagues Active in COVID-19 Analytics.
AI Against Crisis and Conflict• The team modelled contagion dynamics of Covid-19 and forecasted spread of the virus to
vulnerable regions like Africa and Eastern Europe• Main premise: Contagious diseases spread through networks(e.g., Air travel, labor mobility, railway
connections)• Methodology: Used a dynamic network effects model developed for financial contagion between banks
Source: Modelling Contagion Dynamics of Covid-19 Presentation given in March 2020
Key component: Time-varying network importanceIf ρt =0: Then the network does not play a roleIf ρt >0: Network explains observed contagion patterns

Data for Covid-19 Response
Enhancing Disaster Preparedness Through Smartphone Location Data
• The team produced mobility patterns in Indonesia since the Covid-19 outbreak combining different data sources from microeconomic indicators, Facebook, and smartphone mobility data.
• The findings can inform and guide policymakers’ responding, reopening, and recovery plans.

Green and Blue Footprints Tool: Decision Support for Living Cities
• Interactive live report of the tool development is under development, accessible through this link.
• The green and blue footprints tool produced highly accurate urban green/blue mapping in Jakarta and other regions in Indonesia, leveraging satellite/drone imagery, AI, and interactive visualization.
• Using the tool, the team highlighted the rapid decline of green areas in Jakarta from 90%(1990) to 70%(2018). Additionally, the team produced the Jakarta water delineation map that meets regulatory standards with a 15% increase in average data accuracy compared to existing data.
