While vacationing in India and Ceylon, I fell in love with South Asia and the antique colonial furniture of the British, Dutch, and Portuguese, and Anglo∙Raj Antiques was born. The collection shown on the following pages represents my

personal commitment to finding the very finest of these fast disappearing, beautiful treasures.

My searches have taken me to Ceylon: to the tea and rubber plantations in the hills of Nuwara Eliya; to the colonial bungalows in the Cinammon Gardens of Colombo, to the beaches of Galle; and to India: to the stately Parsi homes in Bombay, to the spice trading center in Cochin, to the backwaters of Kerala, as well as to the jungles of Burma.

The furniture is made of increasingly rare exotic asian woods: ebony, calamander, nadoon, satinwood, rosewood, mahogany, jackwood and teak.

Colonial antique furniture of this period is incredibly versatile, elegant and practical, adding beauty, distinction and interest to any interior scheme, whether modern or traditional.
