The Notification Center: Notifications and your daily agenda will pop- down by swiping DOWN from the very top of any screen. It contains many controls, such as Airplane Mode, Rotation Lock, Do Not Disturb, WiFi and Bluetooth switches, Brightness, and more. Spotlight Searching: The Spotlight search screen will pop down for you to search for many types of data on your iDevice. This is done by swiping DOWN from anywhere in the center of any screen. The Dock: A shelf on the bottom of every Home Screen. Whatever app or folder is stored on the dock remains consistent across all your home pages. Therefore, it’s a great place to keep your most-often used apps. The Status Bar: The information bar at the very top of every screen. It shows signal strength of your Wi-Fi and Cellular signals, the time, battery level, Do Not Disturb status, Airplane mode, and much more. The App Switcher: This is a special feature that is accessible by double-pressing the Home Button. The screen will show thumbnails of all the apps you used recently and that are “sleeping” or “inactive” in the background. Some of these apps can actually be processing data in the background – called multitasking – you can switch back and forth to reactivate apps by swiping the thumbnails to the right and/or left and tapping on the thumbnail you want to activate. You can Force Quit an app by swiping UP on its thumbnail in this screen - as if to fling it off the top of the device. The Recents List appears at the top of the App Switcher screen - representing recent contacts you communicated with. Your Favorites contacts also appear here. © Sandro V.
